What confirmed adventure or adventure-like games are you most hyped up about?

edited August 2009 in General Chat
Not going with a poll here, since it is never exhaustive, inevitably leaving out some games unintentionally.

Anyway, there are quite a number of games coming out either this year or next. Here's a brief list for some of these confirmed games:

- Gray Matter
- Heavy Rain (probably action-adventure, but it's a Quantic Dream production!)
- Brutal Legends (again more action-adventure, but it's a Double-Fine production!)
- Machinarium (Amanita Design, the makers of Samorost series)
- Ghost Pirate of Vooju Island (Autumn Moon, makers of Vampyre Story)
- 15 Days
- Dark Fall: Lost Souls
- The Black Mirror 2
- Momento Mori

Again, the list is not exhaustive, so please add your own title that you are hyped up about.

I was personally blown away by Quantic Dreams in their technology, and can't wait to see how Heavy Rain is going to work out on my rather inactive PS3. I am also holding my breath for Momento Mori.

I'm really hoping that Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island is a good one.

Ghost Pirates of Voogu Island? I guess I should go check that out.

Heavy Rain looks amazing. Me and my dad are waiting for that...

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth looks like it'll turn out great.

The Black Mirror 2? Nice! I hadn't heard about that yet.

I guess I'm most excited about the rest of ToMI, and the possibility of more LucasArts Special Editions, specifically, MI2 and CMI. And FATE. But none of that's confirmed :(

I'm also looking forward to Runaway 3

Brutal Legend, by miles. Anything that Tim 'The Shave' Schafer does is a must-buy for me.

Brutal Legend is definitely top of my list, but has fallen to the back of mind lately with all of this Monkey Madness and Lucasarts revival nuttiness. It's gonna be hard for me to even focus on it come Rocktober when we'll still have two episodes of TOMI left! Machinarium is next on my list. After seeing the trailer a few months ago, I've since fallen head over heels for Amanita Design and even downloaded their excellent $5 game Samarost 2. Looking forward to Ghost Pirates too, but kinda wish Vampyre Story 2 was coming first.

Yar, no release date has been announced for A Vampyre Story 2: A Bat's Tale. Just hope that it will not take years to come out, like the first Vampyre Story.

And then be very disappointing when it does arrive! (IMO)

I´m most interested in Brutal Legend and Ghost Pirate of Vooju Island. I´m also very interested in new special editions of classic adventure games from LucasArts (especially the Lechuck´s Revenge Special Edition)

Apart from the already mentioned games, I recently found this teaser for a game called Seven Haunted Seas. It has more undead pirates. And I love those.

Heavy Rain, even though I don't have a PS3. If it's like Indigo Prophecy gameplay-wise, I won't mind "playing" it vicariously via *insert video site here*.

Not one of you is metal enough for Tim Schafer's new game, for you all lack the umlaut.

    Brütal Legend!

As far as top of my looking-forward-to list (other than the above-mentioned brütality):

Gray Matter (Jane Jensen hasn't let me down yet)
    Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island
    A Vampyre Story 2
    Runaway 3
    Heavy Rain
    DeathSpank
    Culpa Innata 2
    Syberia 3
Project Fedora (just because I want to that what I believe it to be is correct)

Other titles mentioned in this list (Memento Mori, Machinarium, etc.) I may still be interested in, but these are the major ones. I also want The Secret World to come out so Ragnar Tørnquist can get to work on Dreamfall Chapters and The Longest Journey 2.

Ive never heard of these games.. are they really adventure games? Could anyone play them, or just the ones with optimized computers?

Brutal Legend is definitely top of my list

Brutal Legend isn't an adventure game as such though is it? It looks like it has a lot of action from the trailer... or am I totally mistaken?

Nah, Brütal Legend isn't an adventure game. It's not even getting a PC release (at least, not right away). However, it does kinda fall under "adventure-like" according to the thread topic, especially since it's developed by Tim Schafer and his Double Fine studio.

The FAQ in the Double Fine site leaves open the possibility of an eventually PC version of Brutal Legend. Quoted directly from http://www.doublefine.com/news.php/about :
OMG! Upon which platforms will I be able I play this amazing game Brütal Legend?

The currently-announced platforms for Brütal Legend are the XBOX 360, and the PlayStation 3.

What? No PC version? I've always hated you, Double Fine! Now I know why.

Please, no hate. No one ever said there WASN'T going to be a PC version.

Other than the Telltale games? Well, Brutal Legend's the only thing I'm watching out for right now. It's not an adventure game, but it's Tim Schafer.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Alan Wake.
