How many episodes will Minecraft Story Mode? All in all?

I'm just curious how many episodes will Minecraft Story Mode be?
Also, why does it seem to have more episodes than the other Telltale series?

    1. As long as it's profitable and as long as they have the rights.

    1: 8 as of now.

    2: The last three episodes are part of the "Adventure Pass" which is basically like the game's second season.

    The main Season was a typical five episode Season, and they released a bonus three episode DLC. That is all for Season 1, but they seem to be hinting at what could potentially be another Season down the line. As others said, I imagine it is due to a combination of it being a big franchise while also being easier to produce since they can import environments directly from Minecraft and make retro styled animations/character models.
