It depends on the opinion, but mostly yes. I do believe that free speech is starting to get more and more.... not free? It's mostly because people are trying too hard to be politically correct, but in the end they just silence people and prevent them from having opinions. Sure, some opinions are not good ones (for example, someone's opinion that they hate black people), but it's called free speech for a reason.

Couldn't have made better points if I tried. However I shall attempt to. I find this topic comes up all the time. Opinions are based largely on how and where you were raised. Argueing over fact vs opinion never really validates either. That said here are some Opinions I believe are true. You have correctly noted some of todays worst conersational trends. In my opinion, nature shows us some interesting truths.
In nature there are examples of homosexuality and bisexual tendencies...animals do it. This has been used as a way to point out that there is nothing immoral about the acts. I believe this philosophy fully. In nature offspring are physically punished as a way to keep them in line and safe...yet for some reason those same people who believe in the aforementioned philosophy...do not carry this one over.
I am a lesbian...yet I do believe in spanking when it is warranted. If it was so traumatizing, then how did humanity ever survive for so long.
I too have never called discipline child abuse. And discipline can come in many different forms.
My dad always taught me the idea behind … morea spanking was to make the child feel humiliation for when he did wrong.
And I believe that that is a good thing, because when you do something that is wrong, you should feel ashamed, whether you committed wrong unknowingly, or knowingly.
When it comes to the issue of spanking a child as a form of discipline, I am 100% behind it. And as long as it does not result in bruising, or blood being drawn, then it does not constitute abuse.
Well to be honest this is absolutely nothing new. We humans since the beginning have had people pushing an agenda. To many people their opinions are so clear that they become facts.
Its just that through the internet its become thousands of times easier for people who share the same views to meet and unite. Just look at this thread for example. Kenny/Lee can meet people who share or oppose his views who live in other continents and spread them to people he would most likely never meet in real life.
Some people seems to identify with their opinions, and therefore gets personally offended when someone disagrees. Also people mistaking their opinions for facts and facts for opinions. I don't know how this happened.
