This has nothing to do with Monthly releases; it's because of Telltale's new engine. Old Telltale episodes were released monthly, were longer, had more gameplay, etc, and did not have these same issues. Minecraft does not have the same issues as Michonne, but you overlooked that to make a false correlation with Michonne and Batman.

I am saying they should go back to the old speed of schedule. I mean look, with two episodes of Batman in there are people still having issues who are unfortunate to come across of. Not all has these issues, but enough to be concerning. Also I already know most about how they worked with the two previous schedules, I've been here since 2014 (sorry if this comes across as aggressive, I sometimes get annoyed when others think I don't know anything of how things work when I've been around for a while. Sorry.). But it wouldn't be surprising if there were kinks in the revising bits that were looked at. Finally, I said "I'm not sure about Minecraft". I don't have an opinion on it. I left that out because honestly I got a lot of things outside of Telltale to look forward to and not every game they make interests me so the chance of me following those games and knowing if there were any issues was nil. I didn't use it to make a false correlation with the other two games cuz I don't know much about Minecraft but I know well there's been issues with Michonne and Batman and these complaints are legitimate.

The longer waits during Season 2/Wolf/Borderlands/etc are caused by Telltale revising episodes due to live feedback. With Batman, Minecraft, and Michonne, they are not rewriting the story live in the middle of the Season; this gives them the advantage of working on more of the episode in advance. If they do major rewrites live, they work on things closer to release and are more likely to hurry.

You have it backwards - it's better for them to work on more of the episode in advance so they can polish it. If they spend time doing heavier revisions with story rewrites, they have less time to polish the episode. Read the above paragraph; the long waits are from Telltale revising the episode; that is not them developing the entire episode in that time. Look at Telltale's history of monthly episodes before Walking Dead.

As I mentioned, I already remember most of how Telltale functioned (I forgotten some details but most of it is still in my head, especially the revising bit and live feedback), specifically TWD S2 and up. What I'm suggesting is that they take a step back and slow down because despite the new schedule there's still issues prominent in Batman, to the point it is broken. I dunno, but when you have all this time you expect a well functioning game, and a lot of people got a broken one with Batman.

So yeah it's good they work on advance, however I think they also need to slow down on the game release speed. As I said (again) I'm suggesting the speed of game release, not exactly like the old schedule(s). Because despite the current schedule, people have been getting game breaking issues with Batman.

    Self quote below.

I firmly believe that Telltale needs to take a step back and ask themselves "Is this monthly schedule really worth it for what it's costing us upon release?"

I should of clarified exactly what I meant. Right now, I think they should dial back on the monthly release so they at least have more time to fix the issues that's been going on despite working ahead of time already. If they go back to a more slow schedule I'd be more than content about it cuz I know they'd be making it fully functional for everyone.

  • I think this goes into the realm of prideful leadership. They want to continue to own an engine...the TellTale engine has been very successful....but it is long in the tooth....so they try and make a new one. It is not like in the old days though...they would have been better off with unreal engine 3 or 4...Those work well on many different platforms and Epic would have helped them get a handle on things faster.

That being said...I think that eventually the engine will be tamed. I just think that using a brand spanking new engine without it seems abundant testing is foolish on their part and will hurt them for awhile.

  • Okay, so what was cut from episode 2?
I noticed those same abrupt loading screens towards the end of the episode at the theater.

I didn't even watch this episode online. Can a brother help me out?

  • Those loading screens are always there, even on PC

  • I just got really happy that I received an episode with no cut content but really sad cause that means even the platform frontrunners get a loading screen that tramples all over the tension of that scene.

  • They are like 2-3 seconds on PC not bad.
