Definitely not on par with the PC version, but I was still able to enjoy an incident-free playthrough of it.

I went with "okay". I did play the entire game pretty quickly, which I wouldn't have if I didn't enjoy it. The technical issues are the only reason I didn't choose "great".

I will play it all the way through (Havn't yet), but I agree with the tech issues. the choppy and sometimes freezing graphics should never happen on a console.

it was ok... i played the game in one sitting... if the wii version was bad, I would have turned off the system right away.

What wrong with it? is it the quality?

I turned down the sharpness on my tv, Changed the wii settings from 480p to 480i. I have to say it looks a little better then when i first played it. Now if i had no lag then i could sleep at night again.

i also played the game inn 480i setting and did not encounter a lot of the problems other gamers are complaining :)

I was disappointed with the bad audio, but since my PC has no hope at all of running TMI, I'm just glad I had a chance to play the game (which was great) at all, as the Wii is my only current-gen system. I didn't have a lot of problems with lag - a bit, yes, which was annoying, but nothing that made it particularly difficult to play. If you can use the PC version, absolutely go with it, but if you're in my situation, you might find you're still able to enjoy the game this way. I was.

I went with okay as well... The game itself is great! On par with all the other Monkey Island. Funny and Innovative! But frame rate issues and freezing and long load times from screen to screen... Come on guys!!!

I didn't play the Wii Version... but I want to vote in the poll... what option do I choose? :(

Are you guys paying for two copies of the game?.....

I've paid for Sam and Max Save The World 3 times over, what's your point?

Yes, I did like the Wii version of ToMI. But I do have a suggestion. Why not cut the game into two parts? Episode 1 Part 1, and Episode 1 Part 2? Each could be 500 Points on the Wii Shop, and each could be twice as powerful than it is as one game. Sure it may pose problems in terms of marketing the game, but hey, it'll be higher quality.

Considering most of the locations, characters, etc. are the same for the majority of the episode, I think that would just create more problems than it solves.

TellTale cheated everyone with their release of ToMI on the Wii. The developers should have made the hard decision not to release on the Wii and tell all the fans that the Wii version would not be up to par with the vision they had for MI.

When all is said and done, Telltale has lost my business for any Wii console releases.

But tell me how you REALLY feel!

This is why retail release is the way to go

I'm playing the PAL release, and am having no issues with framerate or audio quality. Definitely one of my top Wiiware purchases to date.
  • edited July 2009
Apparently Telltale is aware of the technical issues with the WiiWare version, and working to prevent them from cropping up in the next episode. So I'm looking forward to the next installment.

I thought the game was amazing and look forward to future episodes, but I am extremely disappointed with the technical issues of the wii version and probably won't buy the remaining episodes if they aren't fixed.

I voted "ok", because I experienced a very intense lag. I was playing another day and when I changed the screen (I was entering in the jungle), the lag was so high that the screen froze. I tried to reset and nothing happened. After that, I realized that I needed to turn off my plug because the reset button of the wii didn't work.

Anyone knows why it happened? if so, what can I do to stop with this lag?

Also, does anyone know how can I save my Treasure Hunting game? I took the 6 maps, but when I logged on to play again, I only had the first map.

I was just wondering how many of you bought both the PC and the Wii version?
I bought them both and perhaps thats why i have a big problem with the wii version. The PC runs so smooth on a high resolution but the wii runs so choppy on a low resolution. If i had just played the Wii version I might not miss what i have on the PC. I still love the game and plan on buying all the Wii episodes.

I have both, and considering I'm well aware of the 40MB Wiiware limit (and all the issues mentioned here since the US version was released) I have been pleasantly surprised in playing today's released PAL version. Never before has so much content been crammed into a Wiiware title.

Well, i downloaded it yesterday, 1/2 hour after release and have yet to play it. I'll let you know my thoughts when i do.

it has a less than perfect framerate here, i'm not too bothered about that honestly. but it suffers from i don't have a HD tv disease, basically the text is too small to read without squinting on my tv here which is a giant pain for me. would *love* an option to have larger text on the next episodes, which i will of course be buying because I'm not gonna throw my toys out of my cott just because of a few issues ;)

for £7.50, its a fantastic wiiware game.

there are also a few, infrequent pauses for loading before some grand animation plays as well, its not that big a deal.

As I'm seeing, everyone has the same problem with the huge lag.

I forgot to mention, I don't know why they make the text so small, since I guess no one can read it. I agree with you, they could make an option to make the text bigger.

Here is something no one has said before(but is true) I found more graphics problems on the PC demo, than the wii version, and no for once it wasn't my computer because it's working pretty well now.

It's been pretty good up until the point i'm at. When i get the ancient scroll out (to examine), the whole game slows tow 1 frame every 10 seconds. Anyone else have this problem?

*edit* it does the same to the pause screen aswell now.

**edit** i turned the power off, and now my wii is Buzzing at me and the game has jammed.

Sounds like something is wrong with your Wii.

I haven't encoutered anything other than tiny pauses between the occasional scene. So far anyway.

The small text is quite hard to read, but coupled with the audio (which sounds fine to me), it's pretty easy to tell what's happening (but yes, a bigger font wouldn't have been a bad idea).

That's great but I hope it doesn't affect the quality of the PC version!

Telltale has stated that it won't. And seeing how the PC version is probably Telltale's main source of income, it doesn't make sense they would do anything to limit its quality.

I mean, the problems the Wiiware version has right now are pretty much proof Telltale didn't limit the first chapter of Tales to fit the restrictions of Wiiware. And all things considered, the first chapter of Tales felt like a richer gaming experience than the first chapter of Bone or Sam and Max season 1, both of which came out before Telltale really explored porting games to the Wii.

Much like the "birther" conspiracy theory that's gained popularity with the wackos, the "Wii ports are somehow affecting the quality of the PC version" theory is unsubstantiated, and really just an excuse to hate.

    Stop the hating!

I'm brazilian and I'm not so good at hearing cnversations, so I'd rather read the text :p

Why didn't you encounter much lag? Do you know what I can do to improve it?
