BEST Monkey Island Game!

Hey guys out there,

I am a huge Monkey-Island fan from Germany and eventhough the new game is only published in English I love it so much.

In this forum people talk about sooo many different things, but what do you guys think is the best of all Monkey Island games and which is the best puzzle of all?


I am excited to see, what you guys are thinking about this.

    To be honest with you I play adventure games more for the dialog, story and atmosphere. I enjoy the interactive movie like atmosphere. As long as the puzzles are good they don't really stick with me - mostly bad puzzles do. Some really great ones stick out though (rarely), like the
    Underwater Idol Puzzle
    in MI1.

    For me, tales of monkey islan(havent bought the other games yet:o) Im planning on just learning the story so far from the monkey island wiki(yeah there is one) http://www.miwiki.net/Main_Page

    All Monkey Island games are great, but if i must choose one it would be "The Secret of Monkey Island" (A.K.A. MI1) Cause in all honestey if that game never was made we wouldn't have had the others as well!

    I'd have to say the second one.. It was the perfect marriage of the previous wit and charm with the advance in graphics.. The 3rd one and its 3D models was not as beautiful IMO plus had some other issues.

    The 3rd Monkey Island game was 2D, no matter what the fake options it had might have led you to believe.

    The 4th game, though, was basically in 3D. Mostly. Ish.

    hard to tell between mi1 and mi3. i love sword fighting.
