Batman: The Telltale Series - Episode 4: Guardian of Gotham Review - Alternative Magazine Online
"Despite a few technical bugs – Bruce walking through a closed door, Bruce walking through an Arkham Asylum inmate, Bruce’s mouth not moving sometimes when he talks… get your act together Bruce! – Guardian of Gotham offers another short yet engaging slice of well-acted interactive fiction. In truth, it does feel like it’s treading water at times, but hopefully the final episode will wrap everything up in a satisfying manner. After all, the ultimate fate of Gotham City – and this series – depends on it…"
Agree? Disagree? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Also, did anybody else experience the bugs I mentioned?

Yeah episode 4 is a complete laggy mess on mobile (iOS) how could they not see the bugs in this one...from the get go..seriously the loading times have gotten longer, audio missing when Batman speaks, texture pops and messes up, lag, lag, lag. Can't make choices in a certain scene, near the end, too many enemies come at you and as theirs no audio it's unbearable; what a joke..telltale.
Thanks for replying - the version I played was actually on PC so I can't comment on mobile. I have a fairly powerful Alienware desktop and the new Telltale Engine is running really well on it (no performance issues or lag, just a few non-game breaking bugs as mentioned in my review).
I've read right here in the forums from a few people that the iOS/last gen console versions are really struggling with this new engine/Batman, which surprises me as I can't see anything too graphically demanding going on?
Which gets me; I don't think they've optimised it correctly for mobile, it feels like a rush job. Which is a shame because the majority of people I know like to play games especially telltales, on the go, it's such a shame. Great game though episdo3 4 otherwise wise was great the introduction of John Doe...was fantastic, but broken.
It is not that bad on Xbox 360 and Android devices
What are the load times like on the last gen consoles like Xbox 360? On my new PC they're only ever a few seconds long at most and the scene transitions in general are really smooth.
I think releasing all the Batman episodes in such a short space of time must introduce a lot of headaches, especially when optimising for so many different platforms.
Are you playing on an older model of iPhone/iPad? I think you need at least an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0, not sure what models of iPad.
What about PS4? How bad are its glitches?
Ep 1 and ep 2 were containing some frame rate issues but ep 3 and 4 worked fluently without any problem

I'm on an iPad Pro 12.9 inch..shouldn't have this problem ... black textures and audio loss ... frustrating
Is these any frame rate issue Lord vandal
Frame rate issues/audio issues/clipping issues/texture issues/black scenes no mapping. Feels just too rushed for iOS, oddest thing ever.
I'm playing on an iPad Pro, so one of the latest iOS devices available, and still experiencing similar bugs. Ditto on a PC with admittedly not great specs. Still, first issues I've ever had with a TT game. Definitely seems that the new engine still needs some tweaking. Oh well. The game is good enough that I am willing to overlook its shortcomings and enjoy it when it does work as expected.
The iOS version needs a patch/update as soon as it's broken, now everything's black, it's as if there's major memory loss, texture loss, audio loss all over the place. What a mess. Way to go telltale, I'm not buying the walking dead on mobile.
Please stay on topic.
Apologies..just frustrated. Won't happen again.
