season pass on new android device

My son has minecraft story (season pass) on a android device we want to move to a new android device. When I attempt to download the season pass i get an error from the google play store that says "You have already purchased this". However I am still unable to download any episodes. When I attempt to download the episodes it wants be to buy each one. How do i get this new device to accept the fact that I already purchased the season pass?
