Any Final Fantasy fans still out there?

Our there any Final Fantasy fans here? Final Fantasy is really what gave me a large interest in non sports games. Still consider FF7 to be one of the greatest games of all time.

Anyways FF15 was released today. Anybody here plan on playing it? I have no intentions of playing it as I don't even have a PS4 but will probably watch a bit of youtube playthrough. Not quite as into these types of fantasy type stories as I used to be and all the characters still have that traditional JRPG design as well.

    I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, although I've only really played a handful of the games, my favorite is the infamous FFXII which I adore greatly and I've yet to play the 15th main title but I've heard both very great and very bad things about it :x By the way, you should probably put this into General Discussions as this post is currently in 'The Walking Dead' Section.

    Final Fantasy always has a special place in my heart but these days they aren't Final Fantasy games. After FFIX and maybe FFX, they all just changed too much after Squaresoft merged with Enix. The best FF games were 1-10.!

    I have yet to play FFXV but i hope it's better than the god awful XIII

    I haven't played a single Final Fantasy game but I'm thinking about buying the new one. I actually played the demo today, it's pretty fun.

    I believe you'll get more fans from this one, seeing as it's a new standalone story. I myself will buy it after christmas, as I have recently bought a few games so I need to spread out

    The thing is, the story and characters and locations will be the same but the game itself just won't be FFVII, that's the issue for me. The way Enix portrays the battle sequences are too different to the classic games. I know some people like the change but i don't. Shame it will never be how it used to be

    Yeah, but hey, at least the old games aren't going anywhere! ^-^ I personally have yet to try the battle system so I'll leave my judgement for when I do but I have heard it'll be similar to Kingdom Hearts - a franchise I love dearly.

    FF fan til I die FF6 and FF10 are my favorites. I'm broke so I'm still playing Judgement Disc but I've been waiting so long for this.

    I don't have a good opinion on FFXV, unfortunately.

    The story as a standalone is generic and unmemorable, the characters are either uninteresting or lacking in depth for me to care about them, the distant love relationship between the hero and the heroine feels forced and heavy-handed, and the real world/fantasy world setting feels out of place and don't mesh together very well.

    I would even say that even the FFXIII series were more exciting and memorable than what I've seen in FFXV so far.

    I never played any Final Fantasy games in my life and I don't plan to. I just don't get what's so interesting about it.
