Name something positive about yourself.
A lot of people when they talk about themselves, they tend to talk negatively. Well the goal of this thread is try to help encourage positive self-talk.
And I figured a great way to help do this would be to get other members to share something positive about themselves.
Tell us, what would you consider to be your most positive trait, one that you take pride in?

If I'm passionate about something, I see it through and stick with it. I've also been told I'm very compassionate. I think one of the most important traits someone can have is being confident about their self and I would definitely say I am.
I'm good at lying around and being worthless.
I'm usually pretty upbeat. Even when I'm upset about something I'm usually over it the very next day.
I suppose I'm rather a positive and optimistic person according to others xD but yeah, you're right, we do tend to perceive ourselves through negative lenses :x
Good idea making this thread! I think it might be good for some people!
That's how I get upset too. It usually only takes me a few hours to a day to get over myself and go back to normal. My family/friends, know I'm really upset when I stay angry/depressed for longer than that.
I admire your intentions, but I fear that this thread might be counter-productive.
There are bound to be users who don't yet have the skill to examine themselves and their attributes, and they could become upset after learning that—from what is apparent—other people can pin-point their own positive traits swiftly. This notion could in turn lead them to the belief that they don't have positive traits it they can't think of any.
Acknowledging this prospect is the first step to preventing it.
Your ability to brutally self-deprecate is pretty top-notch.
I appreciate your point, however I can't control what people take away from this thread. My goal for this thread and for the people who read this thread are as is stated, but if some people want to take away from it something else entirely, well then that's the way it is.
I dont know just one
I'm good at being cringeworthy.
Oh hey. There's a thing I'm good at.
I'm excellent at being a reenactor. Three Stooges, Back To The Future, Lethal Weapon, The Goonies, just to name a few, I can match all parts exactly. Actions, words, and even the hairdos.
When I kill people I never make exceptions, I kill them no matter their gender, religion, skin color or if they are illegal Mexicans.
That is... a positive thing... right?
If that's true, perhaps you should study acting.
...
Nothing.
I have a naturally love for animals.
I dunno, maybe because the majority of people value a humans life over an animals life that i have a soft spot because i consider animals equal in my opinion.
My dick!
Sounds like a very short conversation.
Psychology/Human behaviour understanding. Been described as everything from "extremely empathetic" to "psychological predator". Is what it is I guess.
I'm really smart, that's what people tell me. Highest possible GPA for all the classes I'm taking, homework plug for half the people in my classes, and that's pretty good. People say I can be really perceptive and inspiring sometimes, really nice, really good friend.
I get told a lot, but I hardly ever retain it. It feels good for a while, or sometimes it doesn't even. I get told often that people are jealous of me a lot for "how smart I am", and it usually causes a lot of undeserved shit towards me.
Being honest doesn't mean being tactless, if that's what you're refering to.
And just because you're honest, doesn't mean being gullible. When it comes to dealing with people, pay more attention to their actions instead of their words, because their actions will tell you more than their words ever will.
I'm a good orator and writer.
I´m fun, atleast I have quite easy to make people laugh.
I've always been told that i'm a good listener and that I always help people.
It doesn't matter if I know you much or even at all, but if something is seriously bugging someone then I don't mind them venting to me about it.
I try and keep everything in a postive tone. Example: "I wanna die!!! :~D"
On a more serious note, probably the fact I'm passionate about wanting to be a voice actress I'm doing everything I can to get into that position.
I'm open-minded.
When people call others weird, it saddens me.
Even if i think something is weird, i would never go out of my way to tell them that. As long they don't hurt anybody, i'm ok with whatever they do.
After all, i'm considered weird by many people, even myself. I would be a hypocrite if i called someone bad words just because they are different than me.
I'm overly nice in real life because I take out all my aggression on the internet.
I have crippling depression.
I'm too loyal. Simple as that.
Gonna fix this mistake very, very soon though.
I am in the process of writing a script for a Goonies sequel, though, and my friends and I would fit the part of the new Goonies exact.
I'm smart! Oh wait, that sounds too complacently. Let's say that I like to learn new stuff and I my brain is always opened for exploring the world. I get great satisfaction when I self-develop.
you just described my problem perfectly. I have such a hard time naming any good traits that I might have..and if I somehow manage to name one it automatically feels like I'm lying to myself. I just wonder how some people make it look so easy.
Remember that you are only looking at the result of other users on the thread, and not the process behind it. Others might've spent half an hour thinking about it before posting and we wouldn't know.
