Would you recommend this game to me?
I'm obviously a big fan of telltale's games and manner of storytelling, but this is the first game since TWD S1 which hasn't really appealed to me.
The reason for this is I find the idea of batman a little boring and trite, and the films I've seen him in have made me yawn.
Do you think that my like for telltale's storytelling will supersede my lack of emotion towards the actual character of batman I've seen before? Is it worth spending however-much-money on it?

If you are looking for something more interesting and new, then I'm sure you will like Telltale's version of Batman. There are some new changes to the canon characters, you will get to handle situations as either Bruce or Batman, new take on the characters etc etc. So, I recommend playing the first episode to see if it's good for taste and hopefully you won't be disappointed.
For me, it's not at the same height at games like Dead Season 1, Wolf, or Borderlands, but I still found it to be pretty good. However, if you don't already really like the idea of Batman, I would recommend you pass and wait for another Telltale game instead. This game relies on you already having an appreciation of Batman, as it focuses more on pre-established character relationships as well as shaking up the status quo with lots of plot twists to go against typical expectations, whereas games like Walking Dead Season 1, Wolf, or Borderlands focused more on establishing character relationships instead of presuming people already appreciated those characters. I found that the Batman series seemed to be more tailored to current fans, meaning that they focus more on action/making plot twists than they would introducing new people to the universe and giving them more reasons to care about the established universe, if that makes sense?
Again, it's not a bad game and I really liked it - mainly, I just mean that you already have to be interested in the idea of a Batman game, and that Telltale made a story more inclined to be appreciated by current fans than by newer fans.
It's now my favorite TT game. I love it more than Walking Dead Season 1. I'd say yes, get it.
I never was interested in Batman but I got the game and now it's making me want to play more of the Arkham games. TT did a great job, if you've got the money I'd say yeah, check it out. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.
