Bad decision. I would love to play The Walking Dead: Season 3 on my Xbox 360. I played all Telltale games on my 360 and on my old and small TV (720p) the graphics still look fine.
I bought the first episode of Batman for my PS4 and it really looked bad on my Full HD monitor. Performance was all over the place. There are just too many better games on PS4, so I'm not planning to buy any Telltale game in the nearer future. On 360 & PS3 there is almost no competition left, only sports games and Skylanders still support those platforms.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 might be old, but they're not weak pieces of hardware, and I'm positive they could handle Season 3 easily.
I'm actually surprised they're dropping last-gen console support before phones. And to only get the news out a few days before release sucks.
Yeah I don't buy the whole excuse that PS3 and 360 couldn't handle a point and click game with half decent graphics and I am surprised that people actually believe that. If they wanted it on PS3/360 then they would have made it happen. Probably didn't have the time and just said fuck it let's cancel it.

Best answer start using new gen consoles or PC with suitable graphics this not ends here you can also use compatible iOS or Android phone .Gameplay would not be that realistic but if you are the fan of WD you should do anything to play it
I'll just wait until August 21 when I turn 24 to get an Xbox One. I'm not going to play this game on my phone. The QTE moments alone would frustrate me on my phone and I hate dying in these games as it takes me out of the story for a few moments. I'm very familiar with my Xbox controller. The QTE moments in Batman were flawless and since I didn't die at all in it, I was happy. My friend and I were really excited to play this game soon and after hearing this we are not happy at all. I've been gaming since I played Atari 2600 and NES. The graphics in HD are great in modern Tell Tale games on my 360 Slim. The framerate is consistent and the loading times are short. The buffering scenes during Last Time sections and when a new area is loading aren't that bad. People act like last gen Tell Tale games are broken and they really aren't. Most of the people that say that haven't even played a last gen ported Tell Tale game.
Yeah, I'm really disappointed in this news. Now, I'll have to get the game for my laptop, which will be strange for me, because I rarely play games on my laptop. Looks like I will have to invest in the next-gen console sometime soon...

It is a fumble when something is announced then never happens. I'm on Xbone now but I was looking forward to seeing my old white shark climb out of its grave one last time. Don't give up folks it might still happen. I say this as a X-files fan who helped get a game released back in 07 that had been canceled. If you PS3 360 owners really make it clear to Skybound and TTG it will come out in a "Limited" release Complete edition or some such. For now however, you'll have to find another way to play. FYI XBOX ONE S is a steal at 249 US right now...soo yeah
Wow nice fumble there Tell Tale. You release Batman the final episode within the same month of the first episode of New Frontier and yet it … morecan't be for last gen, just because. It should have been the final series for last gen, I would have been OK with that, yet as is, it doesn't make any sense. I'm very upset by this news. People keep telling me to upgrade and yet I'm still happy with my 360.
I'm in the same boat, was excited because I could afford a PS4 but things have changed in life and I might not be able to get one, I just hate how they gave us hope by including the last gen consoles in the release schedule and then telling us days before the release "Nevermind", it reminds me of when they stopped making the DLCs of Dragon Age: Inquisition to the PS3, after releasing the first story one, leaving DA:I on PS3 incomplete.
There's some people, including me, who cannot afford to get new consoles, and some of play S1/S2 on the old consoles too. We can't just MAGI… moreCALLY wish for a new console. I was excited to get this game, but now learning that it is not available for the old consoles, I'm disappointed
Maybe to you but I feel for those people who waited for s3 to come out just for at the last moment they said it is not avaible for older gen… mores. They could have decided this earlier so people could either save up or just not waste their time waiting if they don't want to upgrade. It is time to move to newer gens but it's still a stupid way how they did it.
Yeah, I mean, the PS3 has games like The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto V and L.A. Noire, as well as Beyond Two Souls, yet they can't make an adventure game for the previous gen? I understand that TTG is comparably a smaller gaming industry but I feel disappointed by this news, especially since I've been mislead about it.

Naughty Dog was able to bring TLOU to the PS3 because their engine was built for the PS3, which is why the game looked amazing (and it was hell porting the game to the PS4).
With Telltale... it's a little bad. Their engine is very mediocre.

Sony also didn't really support the PS2 anymore in 2009/2010, let alone Microsoft the XBox. It's actually quite astonishing how many games are still released on PS3/XBox 360. While it does suck for people who can't afford a new console, you probably have a decent enough PC, and the new save file transfer or even the story generator has you covered for Season 3.
I think this is a complex method these things keep on changing with the change in technology so I don't think that we should create a seen here these things happen now it is for Xbox 360 and ps3 next time it would be for ps4 and Xbox one
I personally think that cancelling the game for 360/PS3 is a mistake. OK, last gen...bla..bla.. someday 360 and PS3 have to die..bla..bla. But it is still a mistake from my point of view. First cause both are not weak hardware, they could handle WDS3NF without any doubt. The only reason I can think are the costs of making the game for last gen. But even with such argument, the game should be avaliable for 360 and PS3. And why? Because it would sell, because 360 and PS3 sold about to 165 million units worldwide, and because a lot of people still use last gen consoles. So why not support them? Maybe Microsoft and Sony paid Telltale to abort the game prior to force customers jumping on current gen...

I will when Telltale starts to offer a Full-HD-support on new gen consoles.
That'll be nice!

People actually pre-ordered too right? I hope the people who pre-ordered in the previous gens at least get their money back!

I haven't heard anything about it so I'm not sure, I wouldn't be shocked if they don't though
