ToMI on XBLA

Hi, does anyone know if there are plans to bring out ToMI on XBLA? I have been playing W&G, Sam & Max and SoMI but the site here says that ToMI is just on PC and Wii, will this change at any time in the future?

I'm sure it will happen, but not any time soon.

Yeah, but first they need to finish the season on wii and pc. They then will probably work on finishing up wallace and gromit on xbla, and sam and max beyond time in space, maybe sbcg4ap on xbla, then they probably will port it there.

They recently announced Sam & Max season 2 is going up shortly. They'll probably wait until the whole thing is out and release it as one big thing, like they've done with the Sam & Max games.

That would leave enough time between putting Sam & Max up and releasing Monkey Island as well.

I'd probably end up getting ToMI on 360. My PC runs it fine, but I do most of my gaming on 360 these days, so it's nice to have on there. Hopefully it will come out eventually, it seems like it'd be far less of a hassle to control than Sam and Max.

That page doesn't say WHEN though, which is the question he was asking, not if.

Right now, Tales of Monkey Island is exclusive to PC and WiiWare, but much of that's related to a technology issue on Telltale Games' end. There's only so much the studio can handle at once, but getting their Monkey Island reboot on Xbox Live Arcade is a "huge priority," according to Telltale CEO Dan Conners in an interview with Videogamer.com.

"We always want to be on every platform," said Conners. "It's just a matter of dealing with the programming needs of the channel, and the different things required to get LIVE on the channel from a business and development standpoint. It's certainly something we're interested in talking to them about. I know that the LucasArts Secret of Monkey Island remake seems to be doing really well there, so we definitely know there's a huge fan base for this franchise and this type of game that exists there. It's a huge priority for us to get there."

Tales of Monkey Island fits well on a console, too, since it adopts one of Telltale's new control schemes, which maps movement separately. It's been a controversial change, but for gamers who've checked out the WiiWare version, it feels natural. It'd work on Xbox 360, too.
