About Murray.

I hope he gets like 500 lines this time because Murray never gets enough lines IMO.

Can't wait to see ol' Murray again!

As much as Murray rocks overusing him is the worst thing Telltale can do.
I'd rather not see him at all than having him forced in the game just to please everyone (remember EMI ?)
    So 500 lines ?
Hell, if ALL OF THEM are good AND fit the story, by all means, run for it. But murray works great as a supporting character, i think, so i doubt this will happen.

Of course he'll appear, it's part of his overarching plan for world domination. I wouldn't be surprised if episode 5 was just his devilish face for three hours.

As much as I love Murray, I think the reason he worked so well in CMI was because you saw so little of him.

He appeared at just the right moments to make him as comical as possible, did his bit and then disappeared. His appearance in the Goodsoup Family Crypt still makes me chuckle:D

Then take his very forced and random appearance in EMI...

You could just put it down to bad writing I guess (with an obvious attempt to please fans with his inclusion) but nothing was amusing about how he came to be there, taking away at least 1/3 of what made Murray funny in the first place.

Like the majority of popular side characters Murray is great, but I think he'd get old really fast if he ever became a supporting character to Guybrush.

    Less is more.

I would just like him to follow Guybrush thoughout the episodes. There aren't many puzzles you can do with Murray. I would rather just listen to him for ages.

    ...

    Wait..

WHAT IF HE IS THE VOODOO LADY'S OLD FLAME!

    more or less

    Seriously though..
I expect him to say one or two lines during Guybrush's trial. The same trial the fans could write for etc. I expect a lot of pirates and cameos to appear in that scene accusing Guybrush of so much

I think Stan should come back, this time selling demonic skulls, and this is where we will see Murray.

Who in the world would want to buy a demonic skull?

So true. As much as I like Murray, he's just a character that worked well in CMI. Forcing him into some unfitting situation would just seem like a cheap way to draw in fans, "look it's Murray! He's selling hats! Buy episode 3 NOW!"

Demonic skulls seem potentially more useful than a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle.

Well, you can never have too many doorstops.
  • edited August 2009
Is it a really EVIL looking doorstop?

Anyway, I agree that Murray should only be included if he fits. He was pretty lame in EMI, because he didn't do single funny thing. That, and his bouncing and spinning looked really stupid (actually, that was thing thing I hated most about his appearance; his ridiculous animations).

    "The skull was right"

I'm pretty sure with that quote, Murry is part of the accual plot. Will he fit in it smoothly? Nobody knows (yet), but my bet is that it will at least be better then EfMI. (And even that cameo was pretty good. Did you guys spin the chair?)

I've even heard that Murry had only a small role in Curse of Monkey Island until playtesters demanded more Murray.
