How did you guys spend New Years Eve?

  • Since most people here live in more western places than I do, I doubt anyone's awake now, lol. But still - how did your night go? I've just got out of the bed an hour ago though I woke up way earlier. I've set a new record - get to sleep at 5 am (I hope I'll never do that again). Though I've slept like 6-7 hours, I feel pretty good. It was a decent New Year's Eve.

  • It's currently 9:50AM here in England, I woke up half an hour ago although I only slept for about an hour. The night was decent for me, I watched the final Harry Potter film and then spent the final hours of 2016 watching Game of Thrones season 5, will probably start season 6 sometime today.

Well about 4 am we received patients from a 3 car wreck...we had to pronounce time of death on a 17 year old girl and a 18 year old male. The driver had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit....he was fine. I hate New Years.

  • I'm not too crazy over celebrating this kind of thing compared to when I was kid. Feels like every other day to me, normally (I just celebrate with others cuz they are excited about it).

  • Today I've left my house and I was so shocked to see the empty streets. There was literally no one! Like I'm in a middle of apocalypse. Damn.

  • Boyfriend and I watched Clemson make red stains out of Ohio State, then went out to a neighborhood bar. Crowd was friendly and not too loud. They closed their kitchen by that time but one of the bartenders randomly made grilled cheeses for everyone-- but not the pretentious, fancy cheese kind, I'm talking Kraft singles on buttered white toast. It was like childhood. Already, things were looking up for the New Year.

Anyway, we counted down the NY ball drop, and the bar passed out complimentary cham-pag-in. Cheers all around.

Then we went home and watched all the shitfaced CNN correspondents. Poor Anderson Cooper.

Ugh, that's so awful. I am so sorry for you having to deal with that, and for the family of that girl and boy.

  • Congratulations then. I had Russian as a second language in a first class of middle school. Switching from Latin alphabet to Cyrillic (and vice versa) is quite the mind fuck.

    I'll turn 15 in a month.

  • Thank you, was a long night...and my Damn Buckeyes forgot how to play football....oh well...off the next two days.

  • I was quite surprised at the fact that you learned Russian, but then I found out that you're from Poland. I can understand Polish a little bit. I remember that when I watched the last X-Men, where Magneto lives in Poland, I understood almost everything. It's kinda cool :P

I'm a total sleepyhead, dude. I'd rather kill myself than be awake for 48 hours lol

Well, i was learning it but never actually learned it :D Our minister of education is quite oblivious to the fact Russian is not like most other languages people learn in schools. Alphabet is different, so you have to start from scratch. I changed schools (had other reasons, like for example, it was quite far away), so now my second language is German.

Basically, i don't remember shit, i only know how much of a pain it is to learn languages that are based on different alphabet than the one your native language uses.

But yeah, the way the language sounds is pretty similar to Polish, but that's the case for pretty much any other slavonic language. For example, i had a friend from Slovenia and i could understand a lot of words

  • Well yeah, when you don't sleep for that amount of time, you really feel like a corpse :D

Though, i noticed that after some time, you get some kind of a energy boost. Or maybe not really a boost, but at least you don't feel as tired. I guess it's because of our biological clock - you feel really tired when it's a 'night' (aka hours around when you usually go to sleep) for your body.

  • Thank you for what you're doing. I hope next days will be lighter for you.

Doing coke off a prostitute who was also doing coke in a hot tub.

I'll give you 5 million dollars if you understand this reference.

Okay, but seriously, I was just laying down in bed and watching TV. Didn't really do anything fun.

  • Drunk with good friends.

  • Trying to get Jingle Tracer in Overwatch.

  • I dispatched my enemies.

  • I usually don't celebrate New Year's Eve, but this year I went all out. I watched a live performance of the soundtrack of Back to the Future played with the film by the Boston Pops, then stayed in the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, and watched the tail end of the Boston New Year's Eve Performance and checked out all the ice sculptures.
