Kinda glad Wellington was my first official ending

After finding out on internet what happend to Kenny in the other ending, I am glad I stuck with my original one. In comparison, it seemed the most dignified ending for Kenny, and also more in character. Kenny's role in season 2 was coming to an end, he was broken, and tried everything he had left to keep Clem and AJ safe. Letting him leave Clem and AJ behind was in character, his role was over. He give his all, and he was done. He knew he was unstable and a complete mess, and he knew Wellington was the best bet. Letting him go was most in character.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the ending they gave Kenny if you decided to go with him. It's not how Kenny would have gone in my eyes, completely forced.

I can live with my Kenny being "MIA", and probably never knowing what happend, compared to the KIA they gave him after the other ending.

  • Another thread about the same subject? I swear, there are like 30 others of this.

  • If we could give AJ a middle name as well, them it would be great. Just imagine Alvin lee junior wearing Kenny's hat.

  • I can see why Wellington may seem like the preferable ending by this point. It is a nice, neat goodbye to Kenny that actually lets him "win" one for a change. He succeeds in getting the kids to sanctuary so I guess he can consider himself redeemed. In the Wellington ending we can't help but wonder if he ate a bullet, or started to second guess leaving the kids behind, or simply moved on and found a new girlfriend. We won't ever know for sure and I guess there is some hope in that for people.

But despite what you said about him being a complete mess, Kenny is actually more stable and happy in his flashback than he has been in a long while. Clearly his time with Clem/Alvie without any shitbird group members did him a lot of good. In the Kenny ending, I can at least say that he was happy and redeemed by the time that he passed.

God damn it I love Kenny, I'm still coming to terms with his passing.
