LeChuck in other games

edited August 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Hello I just wanted to note I ran recently into LeChuck in Ceville.
It is half an easter egg

you can find him in
the fairy hut he is referred to as zombie pirate, sitting right beside the dungeon keeper in the middle of the anonymous villains group. Also note the Manny Calavera emblem on his coat!

LeChuck is in So Blonde as well. In the tavern, there are portraits of famous pirates (Blackbeard, etc.) The last one is a familiar looking, green skinned, fire-bearded pirate...

You can also try to speak to a skull in the voodoo temple, and Sunny will say something like "We're not in Monkey Island you know..."

Yeah, alot of German developed games pay homage to monkey island, but maybe through bad translations or another reason that cause the designers to get it wrong, Germanized adventure games don't always follow set rules of what makes a fun adventure game and sometimes try to create sub genres, which can also be fun if the gamer is open to trying new approaches. Let me know if you disagree.

Yay! Chuck The Plant is also in this game. I just won't tell you where he is. :3

And if you haven't played Ceville yet, give it a try. Lots of fun.

He looks like a parody of the one from the cover from MI2.

I don't see it, he is missing both hands, both legs, his beard is fairly well trimmed, he has dreadlocks, a blue coat and a skeleton face, not to mention the hat and coat styles are very different. Way too different for me to really consider it a direct reference.

I think I've would've got it considering he's labeled as a zombie pirate - that in itself is really a direct reference in an adventure game - but I agree that with visuals alones I would not have guessed they had any relation.

Although LeChuck's face appears skeletal in parts (the nose) on that box cover.

His skeletal nose is visible on the MI2 sprite, and was kept for his CMI design as well.

I remember that there was a LeChuck reference in EcoQuest: The Search for Cetus - it involved examining a skeleton you found in...uh...a cave. Somewhere.
