Telltale should just start making sequels to beloved franchises other than making new games

Imagine how many sequels they would have to do if they kept pumping these games that can possibly get high praise and good reviews.

But, come on Telltale

Can't you just stop making all these games for a moment and start working on a sequel? Give me my Wolf Among Us Season 2 and Tales of the Borderlands Season 2 goddamnit

The only sequels we had from Telltale was The Walking Dead, Sam and Max, and the Poker games. (I'm probably missing a few more.)

    That's it.

    Come on, Telltale.

  • Well, It's not that fucking easy.

  • It's not that simple, there is a whole business side of things that people tend to ignore. Telltale can't just say "Hey, this game got a lot of praise, let's make a Season 2." Due to the fact that these games are based on established properties, they require permission from the original creators of said property before they can even move forward with a potential sequel. That requires tense negotiation between Telltale and the creators of that property, which in some cases (like TWAU and TFTBL) require multiple other parties (TWAU being DC and Vertigo, TFTBL being Gearbox and 2K). All sides have to come to an agreement, and if one side backs out or isn't satisfied with the proposed deal, then the game will not get made. Or sometimes, those creators may not be interested in doing a sequel for whatever reason, for Vertigo, it could be because the Fables comics have ended, or for Gearbox, they're already in the process of working on Borderlands 3.
