Is Super Mario Odyssey the main platformer for the switch?

Is this just going to be a side mario game like Luigi's Mansion or will this be the official Mario platformer for the system?

    It's definitely a main Mario game. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the only one we'll see on the Switch. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

    It is the main Mario game, but there'll likely be other platformers as well. In fact, Playtonic cancelled the Wii U version of Yooka-Laylee and is now porting it to the Switch.
