Random Video

Creepy, random, and I made it.

I was bored. Feel free to insult the video, though. I think it's really one of my worst. My new camera has very poor quality sound and video, but hey. It works.

I hope this doesn't become a viral video. I'd hate to be the next star wars kid.

I'm just going to pretend that I didn't click on that link, and did not sit through that video... and that I am a wealthy young man from Scotland that does not have an alcoholic problem and has a variety of multicolored kilts that accentuate my admirable taste in vintage hats. Oh yeah and I have my own pony... named Nigel.

It's actually worth watching anyway. You are a million times better than those annoying kids on youtube that make videos of just them saying "SUBSCRIBE TO ME!!!" for ten minutes using quick capture.

Hmmm... Only if the first is popular and people want another one. Otherwise, not so sure. If I get a lot of positive replies, who knows?

Maybe people could give me suggestions on what they want me to do, and I could choose my favorite ones... (if that happens keep it PG, please.)

Would love to, but tofu's illegal in NZ ever since those damn vegetarians started messing with our agricultural and dairy industry.

Actually I'm joking, but the postage would be too prohibitive :D I suggest making your own out of papier mache and egg whites. That's what's in it, right?

Well, in short, there's this guy singing to his girlfriend.
He is telling her "You want to leave, but you don't want to take me with you"
    aka
Vrei sa pleci (You want to go)
    Dar (but)
Nu mă, nu mă iei (You don't, you don't take me with you).

I find it fascinating... three words in romanian can represent a whole sentence in english.
So Numa Numa, is actually "Nu mă, Nu mă" (Noo-muh, Noo-muh).
The band just sings it Numa Numa because it catched on, especially in Japan where Mayahii and Mayahaa (from the refrain) means I want to drink and I want to party. :)

You should keep the video and keep redubing it. First, redub as a soldier back from Iraq having flare ups of PTSD. To boot he has always been bipolar. Sort of a metaphor for the average American perspective on the war. No matter how bad you feel about it, bad things still can and will happen.

I hope this doesn't sound ass-ish, but my group of friends were all about this song a while ago, so I know most of the story and background for it.

Not his girlfriend, his boyfriend. And they are talking from their spouses perspectives towards themselves, how they are always on the road singing and when the boyfriends call they don't even recognise their voices. The original name of the song is Dragostea din Tei. Which is Love under the Linden (Lime) Trees, as the spouses try to make them remember what their love was like when they first met before all of this stuff happened. The title is also possibly a triple entendre: 1) Lime trees (famous in Romanian poetry) 2) Tei, a youthful neighborhood in Bucharest 3) "dintai" making the title "First Love"
Lastly, just for the sake of posterity, they are Moldovan, many of whom would take offense to being called Romanian...Of course if you are Romanian you might want to call them Romanian, the same way the Chinese will always call Taiwanese people Chinese.

Just figured if there was an interest in the meaning of the song I could elaborate.

Wow... umm, yeah, that's right! I mean, besides the whole "spouse point of view", which you can't really figure it out from the song alone (nor the music video), I knew all that :D
I'm impressed you know so much about this. :) Good show, ol' chap!:p
