Favorite Batman experience of all time
This game is just blowing me away with all the complicated and multifaceted and intense roleplaying opportunities. The relationship with Harvey is especially a treat. Bruce is essentially grooming him as the poster boy for his politcial agenda while at the same time keeping him completely in the dark, and Harvey is using Bruce as the launching pad for his career while trying very hard to be a nice guy about it.
Are they actually friends in any real sense? Is Bruce invested in Harvey as anything except another weapon to fight crime with? Is Bruce even a real person with real relationships at this point, or just another suit Batman puts on when he wants to manipulate the system or needs to pretend to make compromises?
Up to us, and it's beautiful.
I never realized before playing this game how much of a hypocrite Batman has to be, and what kind of toll it must to take on him to deal with all this every time he looks someone in the eye and opens his mouth without the batsuit on. It's definitely given me a different understanding of his weakness for women. If there ever was someone starved for real human connection and impulsive decision-making, it would damn well be Batman. If I was strung out and isolated to that extent as a young man, and a beautiful lady criminal learned of my secret identity and we had both chemistry and shared near-death experiences AND a moment to ourselves?
I wouldn't care which false friend's temporary girlfriend she was, I'd cling to her like a drowning man and the world and my principles and all that shit would have to go to hell, at least for a few moments. Or hours. Maybe a night.
Ahem, in short, brilliant game, love it to death, can't wait for a second season. pointed look
