I thought it was lame how the little kid at the start turns out to be just a manifestation of the evil...and no matter what..you die at the end!

Literally no similarity except that they're both first person but okay.
I've seen the first couple hours and am planning to get it. Looks cool so far. Great atmosphere, pretty good graphics, nice puzzles and the Bakers are also pretty menacing.
Stop with that bullshit. Being on first person doesn't make sense of not being a RE game.
I'm getting RE 7 day one it's a new approach & one that I'm really looking forward to.Sure it's not much like the rest of the franchise but after 6 they needed to go in a very different direction & that's what they did.People have been complaining about RE not being survival horror anymore & that's what 7 did it's genuine survival horror with a promising story judging from the portion that I played.All in all the only thing I'm even slightly worried about is weaponry I don't want to be able to walk through the game cutting through zombies too easily like in Dying Light I want a challenge & to those disappointed because it's 1st Person stay open minded or keep voicing your concerns & dislikes of FP games maybe it'll have an option to play in 3rd Person or with enough complaining they might be able to make a patch for that option but if you're a RE fan since RE 1 like me (damn I'm getting old) then have trust that FP is the best way to play this installment & give it a shot I mean let's be honest 6 was possibly the worst RE game ever so be thankful that 7 is not following in the footsteps of 6.Resident Evil 1-5 & all others in between plus Revelations 1 & 2 were great/good games so I wouldn't write 7 off because it's FP lol long read but just my opinion because I've been seeing a lot of people complain about 7 being in FP but that might be a good thing maybe even great but only time will tell so here's to RE 7 being the game we wanted 6 to be & hoping it's a good sign of things to come from the RE franchise & possibly a very positive game changer for the Resident Evil franchise.

You don't know how RE works. Resident Evil was always meant to be a survival horror franchise. What? You wanted Resident Evil 7 to be a Michael Bay action garbage like Resident Evil 5 and 6 instead?
Edit: Every single First Person game that has horror doesnt need to be compared to a creepy hallway walking simulator. PT was never even gonna be a game, it was a TEASER for Silent Hills.
The game itself is a good survival horror and I'm happy that as a gameplay we comeback as the good old times of RE 1/3 but however I must admit that,citation aside,this game don't have the RE atmosphere and it seems to me that I was playing a game completly different (making to me really clear that the developers aim to please more the newcomers than the old fanbase of the series).
Btw the ending make me hopeful for the future of the RE franchise and I hope that this game will be the first step to make RE return the King of the survival horrors

From what I've seen, I think RE7 is a step in the right direction for the franchise after that lackluster RE6 entry...although I do feel that Revelations 1 and 2 performed better than RE7 in their own ways when it comes to finding the right balance between action, horror, and atmosphere that the series are widely known for.
RE7 also seems a little too much like an awkward mood shift from where we've recently RE 5 and 6 that were often described as an over-the-top Michael Bay-esque stories, and suddenly we now enter a new story that's more in line with the early Evil Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre series.
I do plan to get this game when the pricing goes down a little, though.
For the most part it's quite confusing if you don't find the tapes and read the files it gets VERY loose and the ending doesn't help. Ugh that faker...
Same with @RichWalk23, I will get this game when it's gets a low price. I still have to finish the last episode of Revelations 2 when I'm done with my school. I hope Capcom will release a Reveal Trailer for Resident Evil 2 Remake soon, at least at E3.
I'd rather have RE2 Remake than RE7. 7 doesn't feel like the Resident Evil you know and love, it feels like a NEW story on its own and it could have its own franchise
Still a survival horror game unlike Resident Evil 5 and 6 who are nothing but games directed by Michael Bay. But yeah, I kinda wish they brought the old characters back.
EDIT: Also, I never understood why they made Umbrella Corps, a garbage that no one asked for. That's not how they should have celebrated RE 20 Year Aniversarry.

The biggest BS is that Umbrella Corps is CANON, I don't know why would Capcom even think of this, it's connection to 7 its stupid plus that faker, ugh... Capcom made a huge mistake at the ending of 7. Also don't go saying 5 is just an action game, I can at least respect it UNLIKE 6 which is the worst game in action but clever story but Leons bits are the WORST thing ever

I can see the developers are trying to reinvent the franchise in some way to keep it interesting and I like the more grounded approach to the horror from what I'm seeing.
The hardcore Resident Evil purists are hating it which is expected since when RE 4 came out.

I don't understand at all how people are saying this isn't RE. THIS literally is RE, this is more or less what the first game was... not to mention, the setting too... you go to a evil mansion with evil residents... How the fucking hell is this not an RE game? Plus, the mansion itself is like RE1 all over again, figuring puzzles, finding keys, etc (even Revelations couldn't do this right)... as for the enemies, the most insulting comment that I see is this game is more like Silent Hill... really?
Have you actually played the game? The Bakers get their heads exploded and bodies burned yet return and they more or less are wiser enemies from RE4 (the game that everbody praises and loves to death even though that game was the most far thing from RE to come out ever during that time). How is this not Resident Evil? Everything in this game is 100% Resident Evil. Or if the argument is that it's FPS well shit I guess Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4 aren't Fallout games, Halo Wars isn't a Halo game, Metal Gear Acid isn't an Metal Gear game.... need I go on?

Basically, what if they made Legend of Zelda a First Person game. Can you imagine how Zelda fans would react? When Namco made Ace Combat into Call of Duty but with jets, Ace Combat fans were ticked off, and look oh, Ace Combat 7 they came around and fixed it and are returning it back to normal.
I have to agree really. This isn't Resident Evil. When you change a franchise too much you might as well just make a new franchise.
What exactly did they change too much? From what I've seen and heard, this has a lot of classic RE tropes. You apparently get a grenade launcher in the game as well as a flamethrower.
I just hate when RE becomes a first person shooter, and what happened to the previous characters? or at least give some other new characters some spotlight like jake and helena...
