SURPRISE! - Stan's New Store (another MI tribute)

Here you go, guys!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phVi8z6SCI4&fmt=18

It's the first time that my brother and I are using a greenscreen, and we didn't have enough money to buy lighting equipement. But soon enough, we will! :D

Enjoy!

    Dude! Awesome! :D
Great job with the greenscreen, and I loved the CMI dialogue-text style! ;)
Keep up the good work with your brother! =)

I liked it! I've never actually heard of someone who's listened to any of Weird Al Yankovic besides "White and Nerdy". When I first heard "Hardware Store" I tried to sing it myself... didn't work out so well. :o Good job with the greenscreen!

Im confused... this is a Weird Al song? Was it originally about Monkey Island, or were those parts added by you guys?

We added our own lyrics to it. :D We kept some of the original ones because they seemed ok.
Thanks for the kind words, guys!

I've been looking everywhere for some high-performance lubricant. (If you must know, I need it for my folsing tables.)

Truly and unremittingly surreal and European. It's like David Lynch and Lars von Trier had a baby. Who was a monkey.

    David von Trier Monkeybaby, Jr.

Really good concept, but could have been better executed. (No offense intended)
  • edited August 2009
Where did you get Stan's hat? Was it CGI? :p
  • edited August 2009
    That was awesome! :)

That was great! Stan's wild arm flailing was perfect!
  • edited August 2009
I really enjoyed it, looks like you guys put a lot of work into it, not really my style of humor, but still fun to watch (especially because I remember the original Weird Al song =P)

God work guys, keep making 'em!!
  • edited August 2009
Awesome. Just the right combination of random used crap and pointless arm flailing. Next we'd like to see your interpretation of the singing pirates. :D

    Andrei, this is just amazing!

I’m impressed of both of your acting-, writing-, singing- and being-totally-funny-skills! Also, you know how to make an entertaining video-clip, it has a rich varity of different material (for example, you recorded the refrain again and again, although you didn’t have to, and that is a wise decision! I just love how Guybrush tries to leave, every time with a new annoied face!)

There should be a musical-number of you each month. It’s good to have such cool creative guys like you, it entertains the fans while waiting for the next episode!

Now, what are your plans for the net song? Need some Guybrush-lines? I’m in! ;)

Thanks dude! And thanks to everyone for encouraging us!

Hmmm, the pirate song? That's not a bad idea, but how can you make something funny out of something that's so well executed?
Majus, we'll have to work our brains out this time... I've sent you a couple of ideas via e-mail.

We're really glad you guys like it so much! :D:D
  • edited August 2009
That was just great, guys! I still wonder where'd you get all ideas for this :p And I second the motion for your version of pirate song. :D
  • edited August 2009
    That was GREAT!!
Stan was pefect - I love the flailing arms.

And yes - definitely do the singing pirates!

    "And a previously owned floor"

Yup, that sounds like the kinda crap he'd sell.

I think that he was joking, considering these two.

Maybe you should just email your tribute to Weird Al (hopefully he's an MI fan).
  • edited August 2009
Great stuff, but I think the icing on the cake would be using a bluescreen for Stan's jacket so the unmoving plaid effect could be added onto it. :D

Nope, no joke, he has to make it or... ELSE!

As the post title states, what do you think you can do? After all, threatening these beloved forum members will results in thousands of sharp swords and even sharper wits focused upon you. :p

Everyone say it together now..."You fight like a dairy farmer!" :D
  • edited August 2009
you should green screen the background and blue screen Stan's shirt, so that you can make his coat static plaid.

Another weird thing, these guys look a lot like you and your brother, but are not (unless you guys have aliases)

Whyhyhyhyhyyyyy must your songs always be so god-damn catchy?!

Can't get it out of my head! And I already needed weeks to get "Monkey in Pocket" out of it! Argh!

Seriously, keep it up Silverwolfpet! And your brother too! That stuff is truly awesome!
  • edited August 2009
    Heh. ----^ :D

Silverwolfpet, you and Majus are like Pixar: Back-to-back quality videos and animations that don't seem to stop. It must take a boatload of time to do everything, especially for free.

PS. Did you and/or Majus, in fact, use a slightly used boat to store the necessary time in it?

Well, now that you mention it...
Majus has a time machine, built out of a cardboard box, shoelaces and dvd cases. We use that to work on the projects. What seems such a short time for you guys, for us means months and months of talking, planning, drinking and playing golf in the office.

...he wants to name it Squiggles but I totally disagree.

I built it, so I have the right to name it! I think »Squiggles the cheerful time machine« is a fine name!!

It should deffinately be called The ZOBAR-X3000.

sorry :( but there's already a time machine on the market called the ZOBAR-X3000

You know, we are great teammates, working together reeeally perfectly… but when we have to come up with a name for a project? Seriously, the golf clubs are made of plush, in case of an argument.

    ZOBAR-X3000, please… this is not a flame-thrower!
