I feel like I've made a big mistake buying this game ...

in Batman - The Telltale Series

Because I've bought this on the PS3 instead of the PS4. In so many cases, the damn thing just freezes, and when it starts moving again, I find that I've missed a QTE or a dialog option. It stutters so often. I'm hoping that this is just because I'm playing the thing on PS3 instead of PS4 and that the game isn't as broken as it appears to be on my system.

I've just finished Episode 4, and though I'm a fan of Telltale (loved The Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead Season 1 ... probably amongst my favourite games of all time), I'm torn between being impressed at how they're ambitious and adventurous they're being with the characters in the Batman world, but at the same time, I feel like my whole Batman universe is turned upside down because Thomas Wayne is a criminal. Please don't give away any spoilers if they fix this in the last episode (I'll probably complete it tomorrow anyway, but still).

What also annoys me is that in TWAO and WD, I could have chosen which chapter in which episode I wanted to replay from, but in this game, I can't ... have to restart the entire episode just because I wanted to explore Arkham a little more because going and talking to the Joker.

Meh.

Can someone please tell me that by the end of Episode 5, I'll feel better about the game? Would I want to re-purchase it on a PS4, which I'm planning to buy later this year?

    You absolutely should've bought it for PS4. As far as episode 5 in my opinion i think it's a good episode with a OK ending to me.

    I got it on the xbox 360 a few weeks before I bought a PS4, and felt pretty stupid as well. Still, I play Telltale games for the dialogue and roleplaying, not high-quality action scenes or smooth cutscenes. If you're anything like me, you should still be able to enjoy the game just fine.

    I got it digitally for my Xbox One, to be honest. I also think it's just the PS3 that has problems, but maybe not, since my Xbox One does the same at times, too. But I hope you find it working better again soon. :)

    This game performs quite strangely on all platforms. Definitely not the best piece of engine I've ever seen but I understand switching engines is a huge undertaking.

    PS4 is the preferred platform to play this game.

    I think you should buy it again on PS4. You should do it for multiple reasons,

    1. Better Graphics
    2. The problem might not be the console it might be the disc and if your going to buy the game again you might as well get it on PS4
    3. If it is the console then the best thing to do is get the game on PS4
