Why..WHYYYYYYY????? (cart is always empty)

Greetings, all.
I have a problem with preorder. When I check out, the bastid says "your cart is currrently empty." If I click on the "add to cart" again, there is an error message saying that Telltale's technicians are notified. But everybody knows there are NO technicians at Telltale. Where did that message go?

Into oblivion?

Seriously, it's very frustrating.Take my money goddammit, I need my fix.

Except the ones who have been working on this website all weekend, you mean. ;)

Thanks for the info. What happens if you clear your cookies for Telltalegames.com and then try a second time?

Ow, Doug better not read this. :p

    Tee hee!
I hope I didn't offend Doug (and the rest of the crew) too much. I just imagined y'all constantly dressed as Max, running around on a champagne frenzy (and therefore not doing technical stuff). But that didn't happen.
    Err...right?

My bad, I was finally able to preorder. It was just Zone Alarm being paranoid. Praise Jesus!
Oh, and I didn't see any mention of the Season 1 CD. What's up with that?

    - And thanks for warming the hearts of all the Adventure Lovers. Jesus blesses every one of you (even the technicians).

All subscribers will be given the option to get the free CD (+ shipping cost) towards the end of the season, most likely in the "Hey it's available!" notification messages for one of the last couple episodes.

I have the same problem. I cleared all telltalegames.com cookies, restarted the browser (Firefox 1.5.0.7) and gave permission to set cookies for telltalegames.com and digitalriver.com, but it still tells me that my cart is empty when I go to checkout. I don't use a software firewall like Zonealarm.

If I must I'll try IE, but I'd rather get this fixed if possible.

    Thanks Jake!

As for you NHJ, I guess there is some sort of anti spyware involved here. Now don't be afraid, deactivate all anti virus & other security stuff, and try. After ordering (if it works), quickly hard-boot your PC so security will be back, without any terrorist hacking in your machine. That, of course, only if you believe in Jesus.

Thanks for the info. We're looking in to this.

Is it just the preorder that causes the problem? What happens if you try to add another game to your cart instead?

EDIT: Thought of something else... at any time are you seeing the message at the top of the screen "You have 1 item in your cart!" When you tried to put Sam & Max in your cart, did you get a pop up box that confirmed it had been added to your cart?

    Well, you are very welcome!

I didn't try with another item in the cart, but I'm pretty sure it would've been the same...

As for the popup thing, there were two things happening before I found the solution :

1 - I got to a blank page with only a text saying that there was a problem, and that your technicians would be advised. That is where I lost my faith in them. But not in Jesus.

2 - I got the popup, clicked on the big green button and accessed my cart. I clicked "check out" and WHAMMO! There was another blank page (this time less blank, meaning your logo & stuff were present) telling me that my cart was empty.

That got me pretty clueless & bewildered, until I deactivated Zone Alarm.
Oh, and I'm also using a router.

I guess today's moral is : too much security kills the rabbit!

...but I guess the rabbit likes cookies.

One thing that may help users of Zonealarm is to turn off cookie control, a few settings under Ad Blocking may need to be changed as well. Having the option Block 3rd Party Cookies was preventing me from being able to order (aka, no items in cart error).

All the menus and the rest of the site seem to work fine. I get the "added to cart" popup, and when browsing the site Sam & Max Season 1 does stay in my cart. As far as I can tell it is when going to checkout that it stops remembering what is in my cart.

Other items added to cart also disappear. The adress displayed in the browser's URL bar is http://drhadmin.digitalriver.com/servlet/ControllerServlet;jsessionid=68de9319a53e4b99a913e42e01606692?Action=DisplayPage&Locale=en_US&SiteID=ttg&id=ShoppingCartPage

As for security, I run very little programs apart from standard Windows (XP2, Home, Dutch) stuff. The only security program is Avast! virus scanner, and disabling it does not solve the problem.

Using Internet Explorer, everything seems to work (I can at least go to checkout). My guess is then that it is some security-related setting in Firefox, although I did give permission to set cookies. I'll dig around in the options a bit tomorrow and see if I can get it working in Firefox.

@NHJ BV, had the same problem using Opera - finally i found the reason. Due to my settings, cookies are generally disabled, only enabling them on servers i trust. The problem is that the server for checkout is drhadmin.digitalriver.com instead of telltalegames.com, so you have to allow drhadmin... to use cookies and it should work.

As of March 1, this problem should be resolved.

If you have had the empty cart problem after this date, please email us at support@telltalegames.com to report it. Thanks.
