If Telltale are indeed going to make another Monkey Island game, I just wonder how Guybrush will look. Whether he will be exactly the same, maybe just a wardrobe change, or whether he will have a new hairstyle/beard.

It is the United Kingdom's external intelligence agency, part of the country's intelligence community. Under the direction of the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC), it works alongside the Security Service (MI5), Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) and the Defence Intelligence Staff (DIS). Within the civil service community the service is colloquially referred to as 'Box 850', which comes from its old post office box number.

Since 1995, the Secret Intelligence Service has had its headquarters at Vauxhall Cross on the South Bank of the Thames.

The British Government did not fully officially acknowledge the existence of SIS or any other security services throughout their existence until 1994.

    MI6: Return to Monkey Island

Guybrush and Elaine are merrymaking at sea on the second honeymoon when Guybrush inadvertedly gets himself thrown into a lifeboat and sent to sea after making an ill choice of words regarding Elaine's weight. As he starts to drift away, the sea opens in a whirlpool of hell and she is swallowed by the ocean, a green plume of smoke in her stead and a shockwave rippling across the water, sending Guybrush flying. We see him wake up on Scabb Island, being kicked around on the shore by a recently elected Governor (Scabb seceded) Largo LaGrande. Join Guybrush as he visits familiar settings in not so familiar situations as he once again must rescue Elaine, a task which it appears can only be accomplished by discovering the true Secret of Monkey Island. How will he assemble a crew on Scabb Island? How will the new British soldiers occupying Plunder Island (a nighttime setting for this island) react when LeChucks hordes of skeleton pirates take over the tropical paradise and turn it into a chaotic island better representing its name? What group of human eating scoundrels has Wally joined up with this time? Will it turn out better than his attempt at joining LeChuck's crew? This and more, when you Return to Monkey Island, coming in 2011.

I don't know the details but there should be an episode where Guybrush is dressed in one of those soldier uniforms because he's trying to free someone from a well-guarded jail cell. Maybe Governor Phatt's soldiers.

And an episode where everyone on an island were turned into monkeys including poor Guybrush so he has to break the hex.

Ok, ok, just kidding. It's a cool idea though monkeys being the villains is a bit too far for me. Unless...

HOLY JUMPING JEHOSAPHET ON A POGO STICK, I THINK I SOLVED THE SECRET!!! The Evil Witch Doctor from MI2 is actually a monkey!

But we still don't know what their plan is.
    World domination?
    Disrupting the production of grog?
Promoting a new brand of banana smoothie?
Proving that voodoo was started by a bunch of ape priests?
Hoarding all stolen mojo to create a rift between this world and Hereafter to bring the armies of undead monkeys to the shores of Caribbean?
    We don't know...

The monkey's ultimate purpose has always been to, as feverfew has suggested above, to bring all dead monkies back to life in order to rule this world. Seeing as LeChuck has such a close resemblance to monkeys, they accidentally brought him back from the dead. This actually may come back to bite them in the end, but I won't specify ;)
I'd love it if someone could sketch up a monkey version of Guybrush.

    Feel free to criticise.
It's not mine, I used the art from de Cava's Journal (one of the prizes you get in treasure hunting) and added the hair. I know it's not great, my art skills are near to zero.
I still hope someone better will challenge me. Guys from the Fan Art thread, please spare a moment ;)

Hey, I know... Let's have a giant monkey robot half-burried on a beach as an obvious "Planet of the Apes" reference! Or not.
  • edited August 2009
Pablo the monkey would be a really awesome character. He would teach Guybrush basically how to be a monkey, including tree climbing and banana-eating. Perhaps these teachings could be presented in song?
