What games do you regret playing/buying?

What games do you regret playing?

Some games in my list:

  • ANF
  • Watch Dogs 2 (only played an hour or two and never touched it again)
  • Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (already had them all on PC with quite a lot of hours so I don't know why I bought it again on the PS4)

    • A New Frontier (Even though I'm still going to buy the latest episodes, it's a huge disappointment)
    • Watch Dogs (Terrible open-world, terrible PC, terrible story, terrible gameplay, downgraded graphics, fuck that shit)
    • Life is Strange (Choices didn't matter, terrible ending, terrible characters, full of plots that went NOWHERE)
    • The Amazing Spider-Man games (Clunky swing mechanics, a wanna-be Batman Arkham franchise, bad boss fights, terrible combat, lame voice-acting)
    • The Witcher 3 (I don't hate it, I tried the first hour of this game and got bored of it so fast)
    • Borderlands 2 (I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed Tales from the Borderlands)
    • Resident Evil 0 and Revelations 2 (As much as I enjoyed these games and think they're better than RE 5 and 6, I don't find them as good as RE 4 and HD Remake)
    • Tomb Raider Reboot (It copied so many elements from Uncharted)
    • Firewatch (I tried the first 30 minutes of the game and I just did nothing but walk, explore and talk on the radio)
    • GTA Vice City (Don't hate it but I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed GTA San Andreas, 4 and 5)
    • InFamous Second Son (Terrible story, terrible characters, the previous games were better)
    • Batman Arkham Knight (I bought it because it was the only game of the franchise which was ported on PS4 but when Batman Return to Arkham came along, I regretted buying Knight, the Batmoblie was overused, no boss fights and terrible story)
  • Omega quintet its everything that is wrong with modern jrpgs and the creators should be ashamed of themselves.

I believed the fights would be rhythm based mechanics and I would get to manage the band but it was just repeative overkill assaults against similar enemies on linear paths again and again. There is so much wrong with it I dont even know

    • Borderlands Handsome Collection: got really bored of it after a while, didn't even make it to the second game. Sucks that I bought it full price.
    • Far Cry 4: was pretty much the exact same game as Far Cry 3, which I had just played the shit out of. Again, sucks that I bought it full price.
    • A New Frontier: I wish it never happened, it is ruining my favorite game series of all time. Once again, paid full price for the season pass because like everyone else I thought it would be phenomenal.
    • Dragon Age Inquisition: not because it's a bad game, but because I wish I waited for the GOTY edition. Now I'll have to spend nearly $50 for the dlc.
  • Assassin's Creed Syndicate - The most mediocre game I've ever played

  • Interesting. I liked Firewatch. The story picks up in the middle but it is a short 3 hour game. It wasn't worth the full price but on sale it's worth it.

  • Two games hurt my wallet.

Final Fantasy 14 (Before the revamped)

    Total War: Rome 2

I might have a few that didn't cross my mind. But these two games are definitely games I regretted buying.

  • Yeah, it might have a good story but after playing it, I don't see a replay value about it.

  • Life is Strange. The first couple of episodes got me hooked with their personal drama and time manipulation mechanics. However, it quickly ended up as a detective mystery story. An incredibly cheesy and predictable one, might I add. The main antagonist is so stereotypically evil and goofy that he feels like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. It seems that the game cannot decide whether it wants to be a social drama, a detective or sci-fi. Plus, the endings to this game are complete meaningless garbage which don't really explain anything and basically handwave all the plot holes and inconsistences. And, of course, the choices do not really matter. To be fair, it's getting pretty tiring at this point. I also feel tricked because the game promised "multiple" endings. Well, sorry, but 2 endings isn't what I would call "multiple". In the end, I wish that the game would have kept its focus on one particular topic instead of mixing them all together without any regard for consistency.

  • It took me over two hours to get into Witcher 3, but once I was, I was hooked. It bored me at too at first, you should give it another try.

  • Yeah but I sold it. And there are a lot of games that I'm looking forward to buy like Resident Evil 7, Outlast 2, Uncharted The Lost Legacy, Crash Bandicoot Remake.

But lately I'm thinking that I do enjoy it because...

  • Alien: Isolation- I tried to enjoy the game but those ANDROIDS. I found them to be scarier then the aliens. I stopped during mission 4, because that's when a lockdown happens and all of them are after you. This game left me paranoid for two weeks(kinda still am). It was my first horror game, okay?!

  • Freaking Robinson: The Journey for the ps4 VR I got so bored of it and I can't even sell it, because NOBODY wants it.

  • Lol, I can't blame you. This is the only game that gave me a LOT of nightmares. Xenomorph chasing me down is my worst fear.

  • GTA 5 on old gen because I was a scrub back then and bought shark cards and lost the disk and had to rebuy like 3 times

  • The Walking Dead 400 Days, the episodes were too short and character development was lacking.

  • The androids are pretty terrifying.

  • I thought the amazing spider-man games were pretty good. The second one not so much but the first one didn't have clunky swing mechanics or a wanna be batman style. It didn't have bad combat at all and it might have had bad boss fights that could have been better. But over all the first one was a good game, I think you might have mixed it up with another spidey game because the first was actually one of the best spidey games.

  • Kingdom Heats finale fantasy HD 2.8 It was my first Kingdom hearts game and It wasn't that it was bad but I just wasn't into the game for several reasons. For example I didn't really like the animation because I thought it would be modern gen and it was very old gen, I thought that it was extremely dumb to relaunch a game with old gen animation.

  • I feel you. Androids were the worst part. Too many of them, too easy for them to grab you, too hard to keep them distracted. They were more prevalent of an enemy than the Alien was, I think. And their speech, health, and persistence to catch you were really terrifying.

It was my first horror game, okay?!

Totally understand. It was my second...

  • I kind of regret buying some Humble Bundles.

Granted, I usually bought them because of only 2 or 3 games that were included, but the fact that there were quite a few in each bundle messed with me. It was as if I had this obligation to finish all of them. But, I still haven't finished all of them, because there are some that are too gripping and replayable.

  • If it's on sale one day, I'd give it another try.

Rainbow Six Siege: No real single player mode, and multiplayer was a MMO style grind fest with pay to advance content, yet the game cost $59:95 brand new... well screw that. I got about half way through the single player tutorial (only single player available) and pretty much just said welp, this is the dumbest thing ever. And this is coming from someone who has play Rainbow Six games since the original. Wouldn't of been that bad if basic stuff like gunsights/silencers, and equipment you technically needed for cover operations were not "Locked" and had to be XP Grind unlocked or paid unlocked. What happens when they take a single player out of the game in which that stuff would of been needed for.

  • What's ironic is that the games were pretty much acting like the movies.

    • Amazing Spider-Man 1 was okay (Both movie and game)
    • Amazing Spider-Man 2 was hugely disappointing (Both movie and game)

The best Spider-Man games that I've played is Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man Web of Shadows.

  • Fallout New Vegas, I bought it because everyone said it was better than 3, I could barely even play it knowing my character looked like a melted lego.

  • -Indigo Prophecy
(Stupid story, artificial characters, and piss poor writing. Easily David Cage at his worst.)

    -Watch Dogs
(Boring world, boring main character, boring gameplay, boring story. It's just an all around boring game in all honesty.)

    -Jurassic Park: The Game
(Easily Telltale's worst. The only positive thing I can really say about it is that the action scenes are good, the first episode wasn't too bad, and there were some unintentionally funny moments that got a laugh out of me. Other than that, this game is a fucking mess.)

  • Fallout 4 - it really was a huge disappointment concerning the main storyline if you compare it to the Fallout 3 or even Fallout New Vegas
Watch Dogs - incredibly hyped game which was in the end in general pretty bad
Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes - it wasn't really bad but it's more like just a demo you have to pay for

  • Really? I thought TASM2 was set after the second movie.
