Is there a reason why they cant produce another Hulk Solo movie, do they have any faith in the character?

  • Honestly, I'm kind of scared with this. It looks like they're just trying to recreate Guardians of the Galaxy. And I get that, from a studio perspective, everyone loved Guardians and I do too, but I feel like Thor has no reason to be stylized like that. I really hope the remaining trailers fix this little aspect, and I certainly hope it doesn't make its way into the movie. It works for Guardians, but I feel that they're about to wear it out.

  • I'm usually not super into the Thor movies, but that looked really good. Marvel is really starting to hit their stride and become confident in the movies they make.

However, as TeamKenny said, I hope they don't go too far with this approach in all of their future movies where they try to make them too comedic and quippy. I think it works best when they try to make something that fits the source material of whatever story they are trying to tell. People kinda criticize the DC movies for trying to be grimdark (which is fair, and even setting that aside, the latest DC movies seemingly haven't been doing too hot for other reasons anyways), but if all of their movies push the comedic/quippy characters angle too hard, I feel that Marvel might eventually have the same problem with forcing a tone onto all of their movies, albeit on the other side of the spectrum.

  • Looks awesome!! But I'm sad they cut his hair. :'(

  • It is because there are legal issue involved that prevents Marvel from making another Hulk movie. Otherwise they would have made it.

  • Marvel doesn't fully own the movie rights to Hulk, but he can appear in ensemble movies. If they make a solo Hulk movie, all the money goes to Universal or something like that.

  • I was honestly quite surprised at the level of lightheartness from the trailer. I originally assumed that Thor Ragnarok will be a darker movie, considering that Ragnarok is literally another word for Apocalypse. But I think considering that Thor: The Dark World wasn't that well received, maybe they wanted to try and make the story more lighter and more comedic.

But I do hope that there is a right amount of balance.

I'M ALIVE!! Taika Waititi is my favorite director right now and I have so much faith in this. Cate Blanchett & Jeff Goldblum? Thor gets to be FUNNY?!

    i'm livingggggggg

  • Thor looks like asher

  • Also don't know about you guys, but I find Cate as Hela quite super attractive and alluring. I mean damn.

    "aaaaAAAaaaaaa.... AAAAHHH" indeed.

Yes. So excited for this. Though I do have to agree with Blind and TeamKenny, where Marvel might be leaning too much into the comedic-quippy approach. I don't think Thor Ragnarok is going to be totally that, (as evidenced by the beginning of the trailer) but I would agree that Marvel should watch where they step... Funny, quippy characters are fun, but too many of them just makes it feel like a sitcom.

I think comedy isn't something out of place in a Thor movie. Looking back on his previous movies as well as in the Avengers, the dude is quite hilarious. But I do agree that a movie shouldn't be too funny, especially when dealing with an apocalyptic event. But I like to believe that's simply how the trailer was edited.

  • Right, he can be pretty funny (when he doesn't understand Earth laws, of course). I kind of just pictured this movie to be some darker one, with a huge war for Asgard featuring Hulk, instead of Coliseum Match 3000.

  • I thought so too. I mean when I heard the title Ragnarok, I expected a total firestorm of doom and war. I was raised listening to Norse Mythology so I know how big of deal it is.

Let's patiently wait and see how it goes.

  • It looks promising and could possibly be the best film in the series. The other Thor films aren't really Marvel's best in my opinion.

  • Ohh, looks great! I was not the biggest fan of the Thor movies and didn't think much of the new one, but this trailer got me pretty excited for it. I'm actually hyped for this more than Spider-Man homecoming, but that's probably due to the fact the Spider-Man trailer spoiled a lot from the movie. Anywho, can't wait!

  • I just realized, at the end, Thor kind of looks like Asher Forrester.

  • Am I the only one who finds it weird that thor fights hulk without his hammer? I think hulk will pummel him if thor has no hammer, if I remeber right thor only has super strength from some clothes he is wearing( I think those belts on his torso) but this strength is not sooo great.
Pleas tell me if i'm wrong.

  • Thor can't exactly use his hammer when it is destroyed.

Also Thor wasn't trying to actively fight Hulk at first in the Avengers. He was trying to calm him down. Even then, Thor could still match Hulk's strength.

  • What?! Thor isn't that strong is he? With his hammer he was pretty even with hulk but without he must be at a disadvantege

  • I think that Thor is still somewhat of a decent heavy hitter even without the hammer, but I don't know for certain.

  • I can't say for sure, but I read something that Thor was actually nerfed during the Avengers 1. Odin had to use some dark magic to get him back to Earth to find Loki. So when he was fighting Hulk, he was already weakened by the magic that got him to Earth.

Even without his Hammer, Thor is still an Asgardian and he is still quite a strong and he can no doubt beat Captain America and Iron Man in hand to hand. But it would be pretty damn interesting to see how he does against Hulk without his hammer.

  • If it's raw strength, Hulk would win. However, fights aren't always decided by strength alone.

  • There's a behind the scenes video for Thor: Ragnarok that shows the making of the scene at the end. It was revealed that in the actual scene in the movie, Thor is able to generate lightning without his hammer and he is surrounded by electricity as he runs and punches Hulk.

23 seconds in you can see what I'm talking about.

  • Quite a promising trailer, though I would like to watch a film about Hulk much more

  • You are right but with the hulk a certain amount if strenght is beneficial
