The Whispered World

I couldn't help but notice that the leaves have recently fallen to the ground here in Sweden, marking a turn of the seasons. As I normally do, since I'm more happy about summer, I shrugged away from the window toward my computer and a bucket of coffee.

So, I was browsing through the forums and was redirected to the Lucasarts forums where you could download hi-res posters from different adventure games. Among these were a game I had never heard of before, so my curiosity brought me to this cosy site.

What I thought would be a quick glance in the gallery section left me staring in awe at my screen. Take a quick look for yourselves:

Just imagine that in full screen! And, according to the games info section from Adventure Gamers, the game will simulate a 3D-effect by moving parts of the screen at different speeds as you move along in the Autumn Forest.

So, this is a sort of anticipation thread for The Whispered World. The game is due this fall, and if that is true, maybe I will appreciate autumn a bit more!

Ahh, Bad Brain. Good times, good times.

Parallax scrolling has been around for 25 years, but yes, this game looks gorgeous. And it's been a long time coming.

I hope the remainder of the developent goes smoothly, that's for sure.

Ah, yes, parallax scrolling was what I was reaching for. Sure, we've seen it before, but it just seems to work really well here.

I just don't hope the release date is set too soon so it will be another disappointment before we get to play the game.

The art looks kind of Tiller-esque.

Actually the art reminds me more of Simon the Sorcerer. I played the demo a long time ago and remembered being blown away by it. I was deeply saddened when it was canceled; I'm really glad it made a comeback.

Sounds nice! I'm curious, how was the puzzling and the supposedly original fantasy setting? I can't play the demo for some time now, so please tell me more..!

Has there been an English language demo yet?
