The only other forums I've ever been in are the Bioware forums which made the hate in this place look like a joke, and Testyourmight, the competitive Mortal Kombat forum, which was mostly complaining about balance or people calling each other out with some tech here or there. This forum seems alright from the short time I've been here although it feels like there's quite a few more young people then I'm used to.
I don't understand TTG's hate nowadays. They're trying and quite frankly it's not as bad as people make it out to be. But people have the right to their own opinion on TTG's quality.
The old Bioware forums were a warning to this forum. It's what would have happened if TTG didn't decide to "upgrade" the forum and alienate 95% of their fans of their old style games when completely switching over to their new style of games. If this forum was still filled with Sam & Max and Monkey Island fans, 2014 would have been WAR.
Forum-wise, they actually got lucky that Jurassic Park was a bomb. A fair amount of folks, whom were already unhappy with Back To The Future, left at that point. A large amount left with TWD and it's critical success. Most of us(including me, I admit) felt alienated with all these new members(a larger amount) whom TTG seemed to cater to more than us.
After this reddit-style change, very few members from 2009 were left. When you're not a teenager, four years is a much smaller time frame than you think it is.
Kind of an odd place to state the history of this forum. I guess it worked in their favour though. Where Bioware had to shut it's forum down, TTG just slowly alienated the folks it didn't feel were it's demographic until they left. There's still a handful of us left though... which this clip speaks to...
(edit: that clip is a parody of a scene from An Officer And A Gentleman. I just feel it's my duty as a film fan to state that)

I will add that when these changes happened, TTG gained an awesome staff member whom I always liked as a forum member. A certain gal whom adored the Portal franchise. @puzzlebox Laura

The community needs to chill a bit with the hate. I understand the complaints but people go too far and just bitch all day, like why are they even here?

My only problem really is that everyone seems to constantly hate on ANF, which can get annoying. Other than that, I love it here.
Also, the swearing can become a bit much, but this is the internet.
2013/2014 were perhaps the best days on my life on the internet, I used to skip school shit or just get to talk here about anything and it felt like a second family
Same as the few other forums I am on really. People complaining about the newer games and longing for the quality to be as it was a few years ago. There are a lot of genuinely nice people though it seems, so I guess it's worth it in the end.
Speaking of @puzzlebox, when I first joined I remember she was quite active here and usually saw her tweets in the forum as I waited for TWD Season 2 episodes including The Wolf Among Us series. Now.... I don't even see a mention or any sign of her anymore. It's weird when I think I about it. Did she left Telltale or something? I don't really follow twitter honestly.

Laura hasn't left, i think she just does a different Job at Telltale now so no longer uses the forums which is why we have @mostlypoptarts and @kenjisalk.
Caroline and Nathan are great but i do miss seeing Laura on the forums sometimes as she was fun to talk to.

Well as far as I experience since I joined in 2013, here are my cons and pros
Cons:
I came here to share my love for the walking dead but I feel sad that I feel I can't do that anymore. The forums can be so negative too the point where I don't even wanna come back.
Pros:
When not talking about the game, the people here are really cool. I meet some awesome people here and their wonderful personalities. 99% of them are nice.

Aw TWD forum folks. I'll still love you. Maybe I'm a bit of a jerk, but that's marriage, right? I'm here for you regardless.

Most of the time I'm just like:
Especially during the season 2 days.
There's no peace here.....people just keep fighting for their opinions to be correct and I'm sick of it
You're all fucking crazy i love you all
Exactly.

Her articles on the site are now under her real name, Laura Perusco.

A big meme
Laura is the best and I could never live up to her

Most people on the internet complain. Our pets, family and friends don't care about our silly games, so we vent to strangers.
I've tried explaining day 1 patches to my neighbour's dog, but he just doesn't care!
Not as fun as it used to be, but I still keep coming back here because it's the only forum a spent a good amount of time on.
Meh, I haven't really enjoyed this place in years, I just visit sometimes to see the discussion, but it's pretty cancerous sometimes
its ok
Im a noob.
