Sam & Max resolution problem

I've been a silly boy and selected the higher resolution, which my (being primarily a TV) monitor doesn't support (I thought it might). The game saved this configuration so now I get a blank screen every time I load it. Is there a way to rectify this without reinstalling it?

I've loaded the prefs.prop file up in Notepad and it seems full of hexadecimal rather than text (I was expecting an ini/inf type layout).

Have you tried using the Telltale Custom Resolution Tool and use it to load it up in a resolution your monitor supports?

Thanks. I downloaded it and put it in the right folder but it's reporting prefs.prop as not there. Since that didn't work, I tried deleting prefs.prop to no avail when I next loaded the game.

Hmm that's strange. Have you got any other Sam & Max episodes you could try copying the Prefs.prop from?

Damn, it even keeps the resolution in the autosave! I had to wipe the entire thing then reinstall it to resolve the problem.

Nope, only the free one. As soon as I get paid, I'll buy the season. Until then, I'm pretty skint.

If you are using Vista, then turn off UAC in user accounts.
