guybrush lost ring

in the ending of chapter one after the tar when hes looking through telescope he is ringless it might have got stuck in tar or somthing

    good perception there..i didn't notice it, but i also didn't notice that elaine is actually wearing her wedding ring as an earring.

    That's not really a spoiler. I don't think that's what happened to the ring.

    the question is...why can't he just retrieve his ring from the tar? maybe, something happened to the ship....or winslow cleaned the deck throwing the tar remains overboard. that's also no spoiler though...sorry.

    I think the yet to be revealed 'mysterious lady' stole it, being the only booty worth anything on the entire ship.

    Ahm, iirc, Guybrush never had the ring on his finger in the first place.
    And just looking at the playthrough, I never saw the ring on his finger.
    What I saw though, was the ring on the Cutlass of Caflu.

    No, it's definately there on his poxed hand the whole way through the first episode :) A little gold band.

    right...you don't see it pretty well during normal play, but during the closeups it'S clearly visible. for example when you try to tell winslow where to go and the hand interrupts you.

    dont you think its strange that Elain just gives guybrush her ring without him even asking for it? the only common reason to give someone the ring back is...you know...

    Right, I think I forgot Guybrush's ring is a lot smaller.

    The ring was lost with the poxed hand - you can see in some screens in the reviews

    I just watched the ending again on youtube. From certain angles you can't see the ring while Guybrush is holding the telescope (or it's just not there)

    But in the final scene when the telescope is knocked away, it's there.

    I'm gonna stick with my theory that the mystery lady steals it.

    De Singe has the ring now.
    It is on Guybrushes hand when Morgan hands it over. (No Pun)
    You can see the ring/band in the cut scene

    it isn't the same ring, if you examine the ring in your inventory he will say that it is the uncursed version of the same ring.
