Even better than the first chapter IMO. I love the way TOMI is shaping up, mite even be my favorite Monkey Island adventure so far. The wait for chapter three is going to kill me.:D

Not going to spoil anything but I actually like how this game feels like an Actiony Pirate Adventure.

    to short...
    to much sailing/running arround...
light/dark effects looks a bit... ehm, to much blurred! for example: throne of the queen and the whole spinner cay... every scene looks a bit dark as afternoon... i would prefer sunny weather ;)

Dialogues were fantastic! but terrible audio quality - some "high" words of Eliane sounds broken.

Story... not so sudded as in cap 1. but with the ending and in context of whole story - nice!

    my votes:
    Cap 1 93%
    Cap 2 85%

I really loved the sailing bit, and all those jokes :p Isle of Ewe, good old rubber tree...
And I really liked the sunset! We've already had sun on Flotsam, now is the time for something else and it fits perfectly!

However, I agree about Elaine - some of her words were lost.

I love all of the new chapter. I think its most excellent how they're throwing in all of these sexual jokes. Oh, and I thought it was hilarious how no one could tell the gender of the merfolks. This chapter was reeaaallly long though! Or maybe I'm just really bad at these games. Either way, I enjoyed it.

The ending was quite fantastic too. I'm liking how they threw in all of these mythical creatures like the merfolk and the "sea beasties". That thing at the end was pretty epic too!

Absolutely fantastic addition to the already fantastic TTG games =]
The atmosphere was great, really felt like a Monkey Island game.
I enjoyed all the sailing around =]

What I noticed mostly was that Telltale is getting better at lighting and texturing.
Compare the Merfolk cave in this episode to ANY scene in Sam&Max 101/102 and you will see what I mean.

I loved it. I loved it so much. I loved it so, so much. Thank you.
You set a great foundation with the first one and then you KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE PARK. YOU KNOCKED THE ACTUAL FOUNDATION OUT OF THE PARK! THE BASEBALL PARK IS COLLAPSING BECAUSE OF HOW GOOD THIS GAME IS!

Nothing much else to add apart from: Was the music in the jungle a deliberate homage to Watching You Without Me or was it a coincidence because... seriously... ?

It's great! I see a few graphic errors, but I'm sure they are fixable XD unless it was just my computer acting up :S. Yeah, I see Elaine move that made it look like she was more of hovering. A floating door in the ocean. They would be talking but no words came out. And I think I saw a floating cannonball.

    Either that, it was great!
  • edited August 2009
Oh you saw that floating door too? I thought it was just me having a shroom flashback ;D

Gah! That was better than the first! How was that even possible!

Glitches, pfft. Not nearly as bad as those fatal glitches I got in wallace and gromit. This game was freaking awesome!

Puzzles were awesome, music was pwnage, I loved the graphics. Heck, I liked all the new characters too.

And the inclusion of Ship Song was awesome. I may have clicked on it like 20 times.

At this rate, I'm gonna like this monkey island more than curse.

Gah Telltale rock. I was so worried they were gonna stuff monkey island up, not make THE BEST MONKEY ISLAND EVER.

Lavrans: Agreed about the audio quality. The high pitch parts of Elains dialouge sounded grainy.

    If we are being picky,
I got stuck a while being annoyed about knowing that you were supposed to use the rubber tree for a mast but it didn't fit with general monkey logic that you could actually tell the repair lady to pick up the tree without taking the it to her or to the stock pile. Maybe that's just me.

Otherwise a great episode, was an evening well spent.

It was an amazing and very enjoyable episode indeed!

Let me see, first off: The Voodoo Lady's laugh in the beginning was creepy... o-O

The sword fight was epic and Morgan LaFray is a coolio character too. One plus point about her for me is that she wasn't an old character I had to get to know [since I've only played SOMI:SE before TOMI, though I know the basic main lore of MI2-4].

Spinner Cay was neat too, and the music was memorable and better than Flotsam's [IMHO]. :)

Also I'm double glad that there was no Jungle maze puzzles this time and that it was easier to get through.

Human LeChuck was hilarious, but good lord was he smarter when he was dead. Lol. It was also great to see the interaction between him and Guybrush, it was almost brotherly-like at times. And the 'mask' moment was probably a sly MI2 reference, no? :p

I think LeChuck will have to watch out for Elaine, though. She was getting rather crazy very fast [and not even visibly infected yet]. And as the Pox Pirates get more infected, the more 'human' and 'good' LeChuck will get methinks.

And wow at the death and rebirth of our lovable Pyrite Parrot friend, I thought he was gone for good and then he came back. I was like 'yay'! :)

Finally, I can't wait for the duo's adventure's in the Leviathan [I presume Widslow will stay in what remains of the Screaming Narwhal throughout] - the dynamics will be very interesting! :D

It's so great to see how Telltale has grown over the past few years. They're getting better at everything, tweaking their engine, voice acting, story, puzzles... ToMI is absolutely fantastic, I've loved it so far and anxiously await chapter 3 next month.

*wrings hands* What'd I'd do for a time machine....

On a side note, yes the only complaint I can think of this episode were some of the lines of dialog in terms of audio quality. I understand trying to keep the file size down, but I'd spend an extra minute downloading for a higher bitrate. Other than that, I'm a happy camper :D

I liked the sailing part! Been missing that since MI2... And the dark setting is great! I always prefered the night settings in MI games.

The characters are much more interesting and memorable than in chapter 1! I loved the two dumb infected pirates, and Winslow really shaped up to become an very interesting character! Now chapter 1 is to this episode the same way SoMI is to MI2: great, but only a prelude of the master-piece to come! And the atmosphere is getting all dark and gloomy (something I haven't seen in MI since MI2!).

Only one thing bothers me: I want bloodthirsty LeChuck back! We haven't seen LeChuck in his prime since 1997 (MI3)!! In EMI he was just an henchman (not very fitting of him). I want to see him back in all is gory... er, glory!!

But except the LeChuck part, this game is great!!! Love it so much!! Can hardly wait for more!!

Originally that was a MUCH more complicated puzzle. So all of the little stuff you saw lying around was remnants of that. Trust me, it's much better off this way.

I thought it was great, but whoever did the subtitles needs a dictionary, spelling words like Burry (bury) and owwch (ouch).Other than that, fantastic.

This is a big hint indicating you don't have to move it yourself.
Once the rubber tree is completely uprooted and you click it, Guybrush tell you that "he will just leave it here".

I found this a bit odd too, but the hint was very clear to me.

Pretty good episode, my one complaint is I feel these jungle 'mazes' are getting a bit old. And the weird, ancient machinery stuff is cool enough but I hope we'll have other kinds of puzzles from now on.

By the way, I found a mysterious door :D

I never saw that floating door people are talking about. Maybe it's just random?

But I thought this was an excellent episode! Everything was perfect, even Spinner Cay's lighting. It seemed quite bright enough in there for me to see everything and the fish lamps gave it a nice ambience. Also I have a good monitor with good contrast. I think people who are talking about it being too dark must have monitors without a good contrast and brightness (I had those in the old days and everything looked too dark in ANY game) but now I see everything fine!

I'm also glad you solved the face-cracks problem that was in chapter 1 and also in Wallace and Gromit Bogey Man.

Yeah, I didn't notice any of those glitches. Perhaps an odd glitch that's been plaguing p'n'c for a long time(and yet I cannot think of a specific game at this moment). Where the order of the puzzles completed can screw things up a bit.

Yeah, it's all about how you interpret it. To me it sounded like "I'll leave it here [because I don't have the proper tools at this time]". But it's always hard to make i obvious enough without telling the player exactly what to do. Although it could have been worked doing just that by having Guybrush saying something along the lines of "Maybe I'll Anemony to pick this up" AS the puzzle part was over when you got the tree to fall over.

Anyways, small stuff in a big puddle of fun.
