Best Siege of Spinner Cay quotes
Some reviews I've read claims that Siege of Spinner Cay lacks the memorable catch-phrases for later quotation, like "look behind you, a three-headed monkey", etc..
Let's prove them wrong;
Guybrush:
"There's nothing better than a life at sea! Every day is a new adventure and all your friends are fish."
I'm sure there are ALOT more, but that's what replay value is for, right?
I think that The Siege of Spinner Cay is one of the best written chapters in MI history!
You got any favorite ToMI: EP 2 quotes?

Response: I don't need wit to carve a bloody hole in your chest!
Guybrush: See, that wasn't witty at all!
"Nice cans.."
(I'm sure they put the cans there, just to throw in that joke! :P)
Actually the cans came first! The joke came after someone commented on the cans in the concept art.
Brilliant! ;D Great job on the game mr Darin! I absolutely loved it!
"When I take off YOUR MASK!!"
"No, but I know the Secret of DONKEY Island."
"Ew! NO!"
"The map, sir."
"Here boy, get the ball."
"I must destroy the sponge!"
"You must give me the sponge."
"Try and get past me and I'll replace your head with a cannonball!"
"That doesn't look good at all."
"Would you feel better if I put some lipstick and eye shadow on it first?
"And why don't we rip our own arms off so HE doesn't have to!"
"Would you please tell that woman to button up her blouse!"
"Where? Where?"
"Hey, I'm your friend right. I wouldn't lie to you."
"I guess you're right."
"Jerk."
"Use breath mints...on yourself."
"Did that help?"
"Oh, believe me. It helped."
Just a few off the top of my head.
It would be fun to know (and this comes from a Spaniard who rather likes to play the game as it comes in English) how other localized version requesting people would 'translate' the scene ... as for Spanish I can't think but to change the art from cans to melons or pears (and believe me, there are many ways to call 'it' in Spanish -as I bet there are in English-) as can in Spanish doesnt relate at all with ... that
I found the can joke HILARIOUS (complete with the camera panning), but thanks to that I started second guessing the "seagul-droppings" in the hammock... does that make me a sick b*stard, or was that intentional????
"Yes?"
"Claw thingy..."
"Yes?"
"With breath mints."
...
"There, I've made it all minty, now what?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to see if you'd actually do it!"
That had me in stiches!!
I thought this chapter was far funnier than the last.
Also that scene felt like a throwback to MI2 (where looking at almost anything got you "nice X"), so that was extra cool
lol ... I didn't think about that ... nasty
as a side note, and in the same place, I LOVED the familiar song the fish in the wall sings, although it is (intentionally ?) distorted. I am surprised nobody hinted yet about that MI3 flashback
"I like it when you point to the map"
Also, of course, hearing "A Pirate I Was Meant to Be" again (if briefly) was amazing.
Did anyone else pick up on the song that Guybrush was whistling? More importantly, do you think this will be lead to where I hope?
Oh...
damn...
Also.. Guybrush whistles the Largo LaGrande theme from MI2 at the bait shop. Thought that was a nice "flashback moment"! Hope it's a hint for Largo's return in episode 3. ;P
"Yes?"
"Breath Mints"
"Yes?"
"Yourself"
"OK, Did that help in any way?"
"Ohh yes, believe me!"
*rofl*
And anything LeChuck said was amazing.
I also laughed every time he pronounced Anemone's name wrong!
"...Alemonade?"
NO!
Especially at the end with the ship sinking.
i think what was truly funny was the fact that now that Guybrush is starting to get tired of the parrot he can't get rid of it ^_^
"I like it when you... point it on the map."
When Guybrush dances at the "A Pirate I was meant to be" song. Man, I feel like replaying MI3 again just because of that.
0_0 I don't remember Guybrush dancing to the song! Where you saw that?!
"The map. sir."
"What's with you and the map?"
"I like it when you... point on the map"
"You are making us look unprofessional!"
"Fine, Fine"
It may not be exact but mr ******** obssesion with the map pointing is funny.
And of course:
"It's me! Guybrush Threepwood, mighty pirate!"
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! blub blub blub"
If you use it a second time he'll say things like "Yay!" "I love this song!" and does that silly dance from the chapter 1 video.
You didn't say where or when this happens? Like where he hears the song.
The mannatee at the De Cava's shack. The one that sings when you put the locket in it. He dances after the second time.
Singing manatee anyone?
I like it when you... point it on the map...
Oh my, it had me in stitches.
Also, the CoMI reference with the song gave me a good chuckle. Completely unexpected.
Loved it.
Reminds me a bit of myself in some of my denser adventure gaming moments, actually.
"No."
"That's the main mast!"
"Uggh!"
Guybrush: look behind you, a 3 headed monkey!
Morgan: No thanks, I've already had lunch.
Guybrush: Ugh, that's taking to TOO far!
The best part was when the Mer-Leader gave it back as a reward.
"Can I have a cookie?"
"No."
"Okay, MAY I have a cookie?"
"No you MAY not."
That and all of the jokes Guybrush made about LeChuck without him seeming to notice.
"This library holds the collected knowledge and culture that our people have developed over countless centuries, and you want to check out 101 Fish Jokes?"
"You'd better call a sturgeon, because this thing will have me in stitches."
"I hate you now."
Since nobody has mentionned it yet, I loved when he used the MerKey on himself.
I'm not sure if that qualifies as dialogue, though.
