Chapter 2: Very nice; WAY to short, and where was Largo?

I downloaded Chapter 2 exactly 4 hours ago.
I played for 3 hours straight, grabbed something to eat, played for another 20 minutes and then.........the credits were already there.......
(and yes: the hintbar was all the way down and I clicked on everything all the time to hear all jokes)

Don't get me wrong, this chapter was awesome, made me laugh out loud a couple of times and the plot was very nice, but come on: after more then a month of waiting I would expect a little bit more then just 3 hours of gameplay.

Although I think it was even better then the very good chapter 1 there were a few things that annoyed me very much.

- Morgan Le Flay being a new character. What was up with that cliffhanger from the last chapter then??

- Guybrush whisteling the Largo LaGrande theme made me anxious, excited and so happy to finally see this little bastard again.....but that didn't happen.
Why did he whistle the theme then??

- Elaine believing LeChuck turned "good" in like 2 seconds, totally ignoring Guybrush and not even paying attention to him or his lost hand.

- No old characters, but again a few unnoticable new ones who are based on what seems like only 2 models.

- In those 3 very short but blissful hours of gameplay I found way to many bugs and glitches:
1) Elaine's voice which cracked up under the sound of the waterfall
2) after you get the turtle statue and try to combine it with the crowbar from your inventory you get the same cutscene as before on top of the cliff with LeChuck saying he can do it for you. Only problem is, LeChuck isnt even there.
3) Basicly the same bug when entering the screen next to the well after you defeat the blockade

Although I liked this chapter a lot, I hope the next chapters will be longer, harder, and finally feature some of the old character in stead of these bland new ones who all are based on the 2 same models.

No offense, but ALL of this has been said before in multiple thereads. It's kind of getting annoying. And why didn't you think Morgan Le Flay would be a new character?

Because it makes no sense to make a cliffhanger out of her identity if it's someone we don't know anyway.
And sorry, I didn't read the previous forum posts before I started the thread

IMO the cliffhanger wasn't about her identity but more about *booming anouncer voice* "HOW WILL GUYBRUSH SURRVIVE?" She was probably hidden to save space on character models or something.

Morgan Le Flay was a cliff hanger to hold the audieance for the month wait.
There is no problem in this since the series hinted at it when every1 on the island is talking about the pirate hunter, Theres flyers around, and there is a cut scene of Dr.Marquis De Singe holding the flyer and looking at guybrush.

Guybrush whistling the Largo LaGrande Song was basicly an Easter Egg.

I think Elaine Believing Lechuck was good in like 2 seconds, was due to her being infected with the Pox.

I agree ;/ I wish they added new models instead of using the old ones.

Yes, saving space on character models makes sense.................cough.
I'm afraid "booming anouncer voices" don't really fit in to the Monkey Island universe.
It was just a nice and smart way of Telltale to keep people speculating about it.

According to another topic, they never intended Morgan's identity to be a cliffhanger.

I get that it was an easter egg, but those normally make sense.
Like when some pirate says "a short brawearing pirate has been seen around here, harassing people and throwing them of bridges", then Guybrush whisteling the theme, only to find out its someone else then Largo...
That's a red herring, basicly putting you on the wrong foot.
This wasn't the case here, it just came out of the blew.

I am hoping to be reunited with a couple of old characters at some point but I quite liked Morgan Le Flay. It did occur to me at the time that it was a bit strange hiding the identity of a new character... it would have been slightly more worthy if we hadn't heard the voice as we would have known nothing, not even the gender.

Don't forget, Elaine is also cursed with the pox so it may be affecting her judgement.. or the fact that she's been romantically won over by LeChuck's new gentlemanly ways.

The bugs you mentioned are so minor that they're simply just amusing.

I think the problem with the new characters lie with the reused character models - it means that if we see them again we're unlikely to be certain that it's them and not another new bit-part character.

    ... what?

Because it's fun? Maybe a hint he'll be appearing in a future episode? Who knows!
    - Elaine believing LeChuck turned "good" in like 2 seconds, totally ignoring Guybrush and not even paying attention to him or his lost hand.

    - I think it's safe to say there's more going on with elaine than meets the eye. She does a lot of strange things in this episode... I believe she has a plan that she's not yet letting Guybrush in on. Relax, enjoy the ride.
    - No old characters, but again a few unnoticable new ones who are based on what seems like only 2 models.

Sure, there is some re-use again, but they're a lot more differentiated than before, I think.

Oh well, hopefully they'll get fixed. They don't break the game at least.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved this chapter and I'm pretty sure after all episodes are done; this Monkey Island 5 (as we can now safely call it) (or 4; since that one was never made, or lets pretend it never was), will be my favorite.
But I just wish we would get to see a more coherent story, the appearance of old characters and not 3 chapters of sidetracks to get the sponge.
The graphics and music were awesome btw, and the few references to the previous games were just brilliant.
