Walking Dead ANF vs Telltale Game of Thrones
I didn't exactly know where to put this since it covers both games. But comparatively speaking, both games involved families.
Yet I find myself more attached to the Forrester family than the Garciá and the story in that game compared to ANF.
I am not trying to start a debate on which game is better, I am more interested in knowing your opinion on why one game worked better than the other. Could be that you like ANF better than GoT, fine. Could be that you like GoT than ANF, also fine.
I just want to know your thoughts on it.

Game of Thrones is 100% better than A New Shitshow.
So what was it that made you like the Game of Thrones more than ANF?
Hubs, exploring areas, character development, characters, choices mattering etc.
Game of thrones over TWD ANF. One thing I think GOT doesn't get appreciated enough for, is the determinate characters and the choices. You get a different scene in Ep6 for the majority of the episode and it also had an decent length compared to ANF. Me loving Medieval games and game of thrones in general also adds why I prefer it more
I loved how the choice between saving Asher or Rodrick changed how you could end the season.
I'm more invested in Rodrik then pretty much any other Telltale character, however not so much the rest of the GoT cast. Still prefer GoT over ANF by quite a bit.
There was still the "Protect my family" stuff. But they managed to write the Forresters quite sympathetic and also you can feel the sense of loss and desperation because you are actively watching your home and your family's fortune being taken by an enemy.
by choices mattering i guess you mean the determinant treatment of the 2 lords right?
Game of Thrones. Better plot, characters and drama
yeah every section i played as Rodrik made me hate the whitehills more.
Rodrik and Asher were my favorite characters in the game ((there was also Sentinel Ser royland but Asher and rodrik were my favorites.))
Yes
Game of Thrones for the story, characters, villains/antagonists, episode lengths, hubs, writing, pacing, effective use of its multiple PC's, and overall enjoyment in playing it. In general, it also felt like more effort and time was put into GOT then for ANF, and not as much was cut/rewritten/changed in GOT when compared to ANF, which severely suffered because of this.
I liked/had problems with both for different reasons.
The standout for ANF was how it felt rushed.
The standout for GoT was the ending. I know in Game of Thrones, sometimes hard work and preparation just doesn't pay off but that wasn't much of an excuse to not branch out and have a win/lose scenario instead of a lose/lose.
Game of thrones
GOT was way better than ANF.
As someone who doesnt watch the show or really enjoy GOT, after episode 1 I found GOT to be pretty enjoyable, it felt almost like Telltales own medieval story that could have been its own IP if it cut strings from the source material (tbh I found the connections to the show to be the worst parts of the game)
However after episode 1 I got into the game. For one I did care about what happened to the characters. I felt bad when they died and that I could save them. ANF characters just die in the dumbest ways and half the time I dont even care. Also GOT's agonist were REAL antagonist that were super well written, unlike fucking Joan.
GoT. By a considerable distance.
100% agree. Most of the TV show cameos felt shoe-horned in. It would've been better without them.
Definitely GoT (and I'm not a big GoT fan). ANF was just shit - that's all there is to it.
GOT is one of the best TTG games, the only flaws of S1 are the following:
Overall, it's a great game.
Definitely Game of Thrones, S1 had its flaws (the traitor thing and Mira's plot) but I think S2 will make up for these flaws.
I feel ashamed about the Royland/Duncan one because when we got the teaser about the 'Traitor' and there was a discussion thread about it, I commented that it'd probably be whoever wasn't picked Castellan, I'm both glad and salty that it actually was :c (at least I'm pretty sure that was the choice?).
To be honest, I found Mira's story the most interesting but despite her actions amounting to almost nothing, at least she did have some variations for her ending.
Overall, I honestly thing that Game of Thrones deals with choices the best out of all the games (except perhaps TWDS1 and Tales(mostly at the end)), I just hope Season 2 doesn't invalidate all our previous actions.
Speaking of which, is it possible for Gwyn to appear at the end for Rodrick?
Honestly, I think the villains was one of the best things about Game of Thrones, the other games didn't really treat their antagonists to the same degree as GoT did.
Personally I liked the Cersei cameos, mostly because I liked Mira being able to talk pretty much smack towards her.
Personally for me, Game of Thrones, I wasn't at all hyped about it but after playing the first episode, I was hooked! And I haven't watched the show or read the books as of yet. Although ANF did have it's enjoyable moments, I was incredibly hyped for it and it failed to deliver and is the first game by Telltale that really disappointed me.
Royland was cool most of the characters in Rodriks story were good it was just the other playable characters I didn't care for.
I'd have to say game of thrones for sure.
Definitely Game of Thrones. It was pretty much better in any aspect compared to A New Frontier, with the exception of the ending. Well, at least in my opinion.
Sure, A New Frontier had its good moments, but most of them were mainly horrendous.
I'm not too sure, maybe or maybe not, I haven't got that ending. I know that Gwyn only saves him if he calls off the poison because she was there and had a special relationship with him.
I have no idea about Rodrick.
No.
I liked both, but Game of Thrones was so much better. The shortest Game Of Thrones episode is barely shorter than the longest A New Frontier episode.
A New Frontier handled the choices better (the traitor thing and Arthur's death in GOT episode 5 were horrible), but in other terms, GOT is so much better.
This is my opinion, but Game Of Thrones is the best Telltale Game after The Walking Dead Season One. Game of Thrones is so much better than TWD S2, Michonne, and ANF.
While the Traitor scene and Arthur's death were controversial. At least I was invested in the scene as Duncan betrayed me. And at least I felt sadness when Arthur died.
Now that I think about it, GoT also have canon romance for Rodrik and Asher. Can someone explains to me why you think those relationships felt more believable?
ANF for me, I personally didn't like GOT.
It's funny, when Telltale's GoT came out I felt kind of disappointed by it (tbf my expectations were high), but Telltale has been releasing so much shit lately that GoT seems pretty damn good.
In summary, GoT for sure. ANF was a disaster.
Because they knew each other since they were kids, while Gabentine knew each other for a couple of days. JavierxKate makes more sense, but it's still forced. You could really feel a connection between Rodrik/Asher and Elaena/Gwyn. It just felt... real to me. Especially Rodrik and Elaena.
Even though I prefer TWD franchise over GoT, GoT S1 handled more things better than ANF. I really wish that it had been ANF instead since I'll never be as immersed in the world of Westeros as I am in the apocalypse.
I read all the books so far because of telltale's game, that and I needed a book to read for school.
Mira's storyline always kept me on the edge of my seat, I thought she would be the decisive piece in the war against the Whitehills, guess I was wrong since being cunning and looking out for your family gets her killed / enslaved anyway.
The traitor plot makes a little bit of sense for Duncan, but it's completely out of character for Royland imo.
