Batman Begins Anniversary.

I still prefer TDK overall, but even I'll agree that Batman Begins is the better Batman movie and by extension, the best live action Batman film to date.

I find it to be very poignant, and it has a great atmosphere that was lost with the sequels. I don't find it surprising that it still holds up today, 12 years later.

Not only did it save Batman on film, it was also one of the main comic book films to redefine the genre, leading up to TDK.

“It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.”

  • It was good, but I think my #1 is the '89 Batman.

  • I agree with Johro. Except one thing; BB is not good, it's too fast, boring and Bale is unlikeable growling jerk. TDK is best film in trilogy only because Ledger's creation.

Oh dear. I mean, Batman '89 will always have a place in my heart since it was my first real exposure to the character, but judging its merits as a movie, I don't think it is that special.

I am always baffled when people mention Bale being unlikable, I really don't see how. The "only good because of Ledger" thing does annoy me a little. It certainly elevates the film but his performance wouldn't work without the grounded world or the amazing ensemble cast beside him.
