They're right

the month between the episodes IS more fun. when you have people to speculate with and such.

still, the story has really grown legs and i'm going crazy to play the next part. moreso than with episode 1.

Yeah. I think Telltale nailed the right business model here.

Fans stay interested for a longer time period and create a buzz every time a new episode is coming out. This causes more mouth-to-mouth advertising and thus gets more people interested.
The game is fresh every time a new episode is out because you have to wait for it.

Since we are getting the full DVD at the end and because the DRM is not so bothersome we don't feel cheated with this distribution method either.

Bravo to Telltale! The resurrector of the adventure&puzzle game genre!

I really must praise TTG's listening skills!! The things we fans complained the most about chapter 1 are the things they improved! Such as character models, character's personality, jokes, etc!! All hail Telltale!!

Apparently "Lair of the Leviathan" will be released on the 9th of September (according to IGN) but whether this is true or not, I am not sure... I am really happy with episode two and the cliffhanger at the end has just got me so excited for episode three!

Actually it takes about 3 months (give or take) to develop an episode (pilot episodes sometimes take longer because they have fundamental art assets and story outlining to set that the others do not require)... so most of Ch. 2 was already locked in before you even laid eyes on Ch. 1 ;)

On that note, at lest they did throw in a last minute fix for the issue with all the graphical "cracks" that were in Ch. 1 (and in W&G Ep. 4)

But it seems that their new graphics compression system is causing a bunch of new problems of its own...

Despite that, the time between installments is a benefit to the episodic business model... fan input can get implemented halfway through the development cycle, as opposed to waiting a year or more for a sequel. and they can also create captivating cliffhangers which keeps the community engaged

The third episode will be just like Pinocchio! Except that maybe, instead of a whale, we got a manatee! And instead of Geppetto on a raft, it's DeCava on a submarine! And Pinnochio isn't a wooden boy, but a pyrite parrot!

I doubt even Telltale know exactly when the next episode will be released. I'm pretty sure that that's just a guess by IGN.

Here's something I learned with Sam and Max season 2 and was cemented in my brain with Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive people. Never, ever, ever , under any circumstances trust IGN. They are always wrong when it comes to release dates (until it is formally announced).

The people at IGN are too busy being Nintendo fanboys anyway. Don't trust them with anything about monkey island.

I don't know. I kind of feel cheated paying for 100% of a game and receiving 20% at a time. :( IDK that I'm totally fond of this method of distribution.

But it does give me time for 'real life' between epsiodes. So I guess my studies thank Tell Tale.

You could just pretend the episodes aren't out yet and wait until they all are. That's an option that you do, in fact, have.
