The Strange Pricing of each Telltale series.
Okay, this isn't meant to be a hate thread, or rant about Ooh, don't buy TTG's Games!.
No. Not At All, I'm not telling you that.
I like Telltale's games. I like them very much. I own almost every single one. I just want to point out some strange inconsistences on prices over the past year of various Telltale Series. ALL PRICES MENTIONED ARE IN CANADIAN $, accessible on the Playstation store. I will only be counting the Playstation versions of each game. Sony are the ones who probably price them accordingly, but it fluctuates quite a bit, as well as what version have been available over the past few years. The older pre-Batman titles are generally fine, but after that, prices go up and down. Strange...

From this, we can deduce that the pricing can be a bit off.
-The Vita Version of TWD Season 2 does not have the luxury of having the first episode free.
-Tales From the Borderlands is the first series on the list to have equally priced season passes between the PS3 and PS4.
-Game of Thrones' Season pass on the PS3 is more expensive than the one for PS4.
-Episode 4 of Minecraft: Story Mode has a difference of a dollar between the PS3 and PS4 versions. Episode 8 is also the most expensive episode across both platforms.
-The Season pass of Batman on the PS3 is more expensive than the one for PS4.
-Guardians marks the first dip in price for a Season pass since Game of Thrones' release.
-I think we can expect MCSM2 to have 6.99 CAD prices, based on the Season pass Price.
There are some weird inconsistencies, so I think Telltale should maybe contact Sony and tell them to readjust the prices. Some series there are cheaper episodically (by a small amount) and some just don't match up to the other series' prices.
What do you think of all this? Do you agree with these prices? Should they be higher, lower, or is it good enough for the content offered?

It's got a special $30.14 price if you pre-order it, but still... yeah it sucks. Gotta take advantage of all those who want to buy this popular series!
Have you've researched game releases from these times from other companies as well, since this could have something to do with Canada's gross income increasing throughout the seasons. You can also find several threads on the web talking about the higher prices on PSN, as well as the increase in price for PS +, this seems to be something PSN Canada does on its rather than Telltale.
I know many of the recent releases are because of our terrible, terrible dollar. I don't know the American prices for it, but I assume it should be similar enough. Minecraft S1's price should be 24.99 instead of our 30$, same with Batman and Walking Dead.
That still doesn't explain why Guardians is so cheap compared to the others and Minecraft is so pricey though.
I'll see what I can find.
EDIT: And it's not just for Telltale. A lot of other things have gotten a big increase in price. 60$ games in U.S are 80$ in CAD.
Recently, it broke my heart to buy the Injustice 2: Ultimate Edition last month (the version that comes with all future content). Because the prices between U.S and CAD are so huge.
Plus, there was a big price increase for Ps Plus Subscriptions last year. It was for both countries, but we got the short end of the stick for prices. It sucks.
I think many of the prices started to shift from the norm into more expensive prices at the start of this past console generation. That's mostly when 60$ became 80$.
It just usually when they go on sale. I have both Xbox and PlayStation. Right now Xbox is throwing a huge summer sale and I believe it had the first 2 TWD's, Wolf Among Us, Tales of the Borderlands, and Game of Thrones for $33 USD which it normally goes for $109.99.
Ah, the Telltale Collection. I remember that. I got it for about half price one day on PS4, which really helped me make the Telltale jump from PS3 save files to PS4 save files.

Above all, I think the canadian dollar sucks, and as a canadian, that really sucks.
I really didn't like it when I started seeing the higher prices showing up on the episodes, just because 5 bucks for maybe 2 or if I'm lucky, 3 hours of gameplay/content was a good deal for my money with my crappy job. But then the prices went up at the expense of everything else. Episode length went down, writing started dropping and becoming predictable or basic. Release schedules being unreliable, and the announcement of them having so many franchises at their disposal that they plan to make when they can barely make the ones they have now did not inspire any sort of confidence or high expectations. This is why I've actually stopped buying their games, and only watched the Guardians one on youtube because it's not worth my money, and would have regretted spending money on after my feelings from watching a lets play.
I think it's a possibility that the price went up because Mojang wanted a bigger cut of the profits after the success of season 1.
Then mojang is in for a good treat. This season wont sell even close as much as the first one. Buncha greedy basterds over at mojang.
This reminds of COD: Ghosts Season Pass being $60.00!! and my stupid self actually bought it. Worst decision of my life. What a waste.
