Season 2 XBO - continue story, but still tells me to select a character

So I chose to continue my story. It started to synchronise as crazy on my XBO, and when it was finally was over, I was able to select save 1, but it still wants me to select a character. I therefor suspect that something went wrong. The Telltale site also tells me that I have no choices from season 1, even after playing trough every episode.

    That’s completely normal Happened for me and my Cousin. Telltale was just giving you a chance to select one of the new character options in case you like one of those better.

    Ok thanks. It was just a little weird having the ability to choose a different skin color.
