Inventory Items: make your guess

Well, first of all here is a list of the items at the end of episode one. Those that are crossed didnt make it to episode 2.

*Flier: useless
*U tube: you could break it and board without it.
*Deep gut map: also useless
*Locket
*Bottle breaker:should have stayed. Theres always new stuff to break.
*Ancient door face:should have stayed also. A big rocky ring could be reused in a lot of strange ways
*Merkey tool
*Weather vane:a gift to the Narwhal.
//Parrot: (guybrush pick it up, but its never displayed on inventory)
//Eye of the manatee: another strange dissapear.

So the lucky winners for episode 2 inventory were:

*Eye of the manatee
*Locket
*Parrot
*Merkey tool

And finally, by the end of episode 2 we get these items. (Crossed ones are the more likely to vanish in my opinion)

*Locket
*Merkey
*Hook
*Elaine´s ring
*paper (useless)
*Fish eye of the manatee: i dont see any more uses for this ("i dont see" get it?? its an eye!!. Oh, forget it)
*101 fish jokes
*Fish eggs (like the Utube, you can board without it)
*Crowbar tool
//Parrot (once again the poor souless thing is left behind)

So, what you think?

the u-tube WAS useful in ep1

Yes, but after that, you could break it with the bottle breaker and leave the island without getting a new one.

Locket - Since we are following in DeCava's footsteps, I'm sure the locket will still be needed.
Merkey - I'm sure we haven't seen the last of the Mer-Folk inventions, so I'm sure the Merkey will return.
Hook - It's still attached to your hand so it should remain in your inventory.
Ring - Unless there is dialog about GT loosing the ring at the very beginning of the episode, I can't see the ring not being in your inventory.
Paper - I'm pretty sure the paper won't return.
Fish Eye - I have to disagree with you on this one. Since we are still following DeCava, the tool might be needed for future messages or maps.
Joke Book - I don't see how this could be useful in the next chapter.
Fish Eggs - I don't think this will return.
Tool - I'm undecided about his item. It could be useful, but it could also be useful for the developers for the item to no longer exist.
Parrot - I think it will return because of the fact that the
leader of the Mer-Folk reconstructed it into its original form

The parrot, much like Roger Wilco's fish in the Spinal Frontier, might be an item Guybrush has to carry with him until almost the bitter end. I mean it was
melted into a turtle shape and sunk with McGillicutty and still returned to Guybrush in its original form
    for crying out loud.

I thought that would have been a fine time to get rid of the parrot but I guess TellTale has other plans.

The voodoo lady said that it was cursed, so we definitely won't be losing it anytime soon.

Guybrush obviously has a sword and shovel
Why aren't they in the inventory
I like the hook as a permanent addtion
And understand what it's trying to achieve
And realise the shovel missing is a joke
But the sword at least must be there
Like Manny's scythe or Sam's gun
So we can threaten random characters with it

And how about we get to open the Narwhals cabin to find past inventory items there as souvenirs among the mess.
    Like Sam and Max's closet.
    Always a fun surprise.

Matbe the weather vane was the first souvenir and guybrush will decorate his ship with past items.

    The mast is the second

I agree that the parrot will be there until the end, and I think it will be very useful at that point.

I think eye of the manatee will probably see use of in episode three.

The locket will be around for all the episodes. Why? My theory is:
It's really a piece of or is La Grande Sponga. Since I feel La Grande Sponga is going to be a 'it's been under their noses the whole time' thing and that you will have to use other items to actually active it. I could be wrong, but I feel you are not just going to easily find La Grande Sponga.

    O.M.G.

When I realized I had to
    Meltdown the Pyrite Parrot
It damn near Broke my heart. I was all sad. even to the point of yelling "YES!" then I got it back. much to the disgruntlement of my wife who was sleeping in the next room, and promptly threw things at me for an hour.

it was worth it. I Less than three the Pyrite Parrot.

I Less than three the Pyrite Parrot.

I'm not sure I agree. It was really funny the first time it was used for a punchline with Elaine and the lost ring, but by the end of the episode I thought it had worn out its welcome a little. Still I'm sure we'll see it in episode 3, because they had a perfectly good chance to get rid of it this time and they didn't.

I'm sorry, but how had it worn out it's welcome? I mean the Wedding Ring moment was about the only time it was used as a punchline. It also solved 2 of this chapters puzzles.

Plus the idea of Guybrush getting it back, didn't enthuse him either so I'm thinking it's going to turn into a running motif about cursed items.

I thought this too... I think this is probably right since the
locket looks exactly like a sponge

Well. Being eaten by a sea monster is a perfect excuse to loose some items.
Perhaps part of e103 will be about recovering items inside the Manitee that have fallen out of your pockets.

    *Ring
If Guybrush looses this it will be priority no1 to recover it inside the Manitee. Elene is going to be so pissed!

    *Hook
You actually may loose this permanently. Some people suggested Guybrush will be getting a new hand (extention) every episode.

    *Locket and red lens.
Just as the ring, these are story items. The DeCava story is not over yet so you will most probably see them again. Maybe not the lens though...

    *Parrot
It must return! Best inventory item ever!!!!!!!!!!

    *Everything else
Who knows? You may need the paper to make light or the book to slap someone silly (ha!).

I'm still holding out hope he'll get a chainsaw. Or at least a sword attachment. for some kind reference.

    ^ This.

Despite it only having one line, I love the pyrite parrot and it's multiple uses!

I want the skeleton arm to make a return

Locket - Return [even if I do smell moot point alia Big Whoop all over it]
    Merkey - Return
Hook - Yes, Guybrush just got rid of his hook, leaving him with one working hand... Return.
Ring - Return [but he'll defnitely lose it at some point], for the lols.
    Paper - Gone.
Fish Eye - Return, and maybe even upgraded once more.
    Joke Book - Gone.
    Fish Eggs - Gone.
Tool - Gone. [I don't see a use for it inside a living creature which isn't Cranker]
    Parrot - Obvious return.

These three things have me wondering that in order to find Le Esponja Grande, we have to combine all three in an Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark kinda way.

I forgot to add them in the first post, but i sense that maybe, just maybe, the worms might come back?

They were glowy worms, and that feature was never exploited. If the next chapter is gonna be inside a beast and underwater its sure gonna be dark. Some glowing worms might come in handy.

Nooo, the parrot must stay! It is already a great character, even if it has only one line.

And the joke book must be kept with new jokes included in each episode, just for the fun factor.
