Do you ever get the feeling that nothing is as it seems?
For example, the Church claims to represent God. Yet, the Church has had pedophilia carried on it for several decades, if not centuries.
Jesus said to St. Peter on the night of his arrest before his crucifixion: "All those who live by the sword will die by the sword."
Yet the Church has been involved in some of the most bloodiest wars in history. Not to mention, but evidence suggest that Pope John Paul the 1st was in cohorts with Adolf Hitler during WW2 - a man who committed one of the worst genocide and human history, all based on the idea of "The Master Race."
America is supposed to be a nation founded on Christian principles. And one of those principles includes not coveting anything that belongs to your neighbor, be it his wife, his land, or anything. Yet the government not only stole land that was originally settled by the Indians, but also stole land that belonged to Mexico.
I'm a very conservative man by nature, according to many people who know me, I fit into the Republican Party quite nicely. I believe in family values.
However I do recognize hypocrisy when I see it. And I'm not afraid to question things. I'm not saying that America was founded on faulty principles, but rather I call into question the people who claim to represent my country.
And with that said, I thank God that Trump is an office. I think Donald Trump will make America back into the nation that it's supposed to be, that the Founding Fathers envisioned America to be.
Nor do I doubt there is a God, but rather call into question the people that say they represent him. To me, any organization that's more interested in protecting it's image, as opposed to protecting the most innocent of its members, to me isn't ordained by God.
What do you think?
Comments
In a long me to say this, & I should have added it into the thread, but I did not create this thread so that people can automatically attack each other, so with that said I would honestly ask that each and every one of you who reads This Thread and who chooses to comment, will please PLEASE remain civil.
I don't care what another member says that you find objectionable, please stay civil.
I honestly did not create the spread so that other people can fight amongst themselves, and so that they can hurl mud and insults at each other.
Rather I just simply made this thread so that it just gets other people think. That's all!
I made this thread with nothing but genuine intentions, and I would appreciate if everyone who chooses to answer this thread, does so in a respectful way.
Thank you!
Well the church is the reason the KKK is a thing and that flood story thing just shows god is a psychopath who finds the joy of the drowning of innocents. ButnInkinda think most of those stories are bs anyway seeing as nothing like that happens in today's world.
America wasn't founded on faulty principles, it was founded on shitty principles. The founding fathers purposefully built a dictatorship of rich property owners. It was only later on, after extreme public pressure, that America started to resemble something akin to a democracy. The founding fathers were opportunists, not revolutionaries, certainly not principled democrats.
So yeah, things aren't always as they seem.
Yes, many churches are corrupt. The Bible warns of many false prophets who do not true believers, so to only take the word of the Bible, not take the word from another human.
I get the feeling that the chicken nuggets at macdonald's aren't made of what I think they're made out of
"America is supposed to be a nation founded on Christian principles."
Not. Even. Close.
Well, I fluctuate. I do believe there is some higher power (or I guess you can say I "want" to believe it) be it God or some other being.
And I do have my existential crises. For example:
Just a few of the many questions my subconscious juggles each day. But don't worry. I'm making the best of life and what I have. Be it real or not, I need something to do while I wait for the void of darkness to close around me.
Edit: Taking philosophy in my first year of Uni this coming Sept. Should fit me well, I suppose. Though, that may be Theory of Knowledge that is more my style.. Eh what's it all matter anyway.
What are 'Christian Values'?
There are a huge variety of churches, and I've been to several, and they all promote different values.
7th Day Adventists, for example, believe eating meat is wrong. Does that mean vegetarianism is a Christian value?
Boi I had an existential crisis from reading this
Without getting too in depth, yes absolutely.
As if these are separable?
You're welcome.
I don't support the church or religion as a whole. and I hate parents who force their kids into following a set religion, that to me is child abuse. Just watch the documentary called Jesus Camp.
might surprise you that the bible is written by humans
Your argument makes no sense... you say that Hitler was bad and then you say that you support Trump... I don't get it. Is it sarcasm?
Duh. But what is written by the humans is said from Gods word, whether you are religious or not.
I choked on a chicken nugget once. I was guaranteed a happy meal but Macdonald's failed to deliver.
Probably because Trump is Hitler because the left and the media said so.
I bit my finger while trying to eat one once
