Is Telltale Doing Too Much?

edited July 2017 in General Chat

Hi.
So I just realized, Telltale is doing a lot of things. I mean, Guardians and Minecraft Season 2 are still going along, Batman Season 2 - The Enemy Within is coming out soon, and TWAU and TWD have been announced to be getting new seasons in 2018. (And still no news on GoT S2, hope for more news about it in around 2018 or 19.)
It just seems like they may be doing too much, and I have no problem with more games coming out--I love Telltale. I just want Telltale to take their time and try to make something the best they can.
What are your guys' thoughts and opinions on this?

They are shitting out titles left, right and center yes- but I strongly doubt they put much effort into them.

  • Quality over quantity.

That is something that Telltale constantly refuses to acknowledge.

I'm sorry Findagon I don't mean to come out as a douche but I have said this before: it is NOT to much to ask for both. When did we set the bar so low that we are satisfied with only one of the things? Games back in the day had quality and quantity.

    Sorry. :(

When a lot of people lost all the hope they had for Telltale's future games (like myself).

I think asking for both quality and quantity at this point is chasing a pure fairy tale. Better to just pray that Telltale puts a lot of effort into a one game instead of no effort into five different games.

  • Well I'm gonna go ahead and say stop supporting those who can't deliver both, video games are not cheap- we pay good money and on top of that we wait an unbearable long time for them to release anything.

  • I actually played both ANF and Minecraft: Story Mode Seasons 1 and 2. What I meant is I hope they can keep making decent games and good games, and, as I also said, they have a lot of games coming out--which could make them bad.

  • The Walking Dead A New Frontier is your answer, just play it and you'll notice the quality. That one did not work for them.
Developing several games at once is not a good idea. It makes all the games much worse because the developers keep rushing it.

  • I wished they just released full games ok keep episodes but like netflix release all at once

Episodes are to linear, choices have no impact mostly cutscenes

Plus episodes only hour spending month debating seems bit excessive

I only buy when full game is released but annoying trying avoid spoilers till.then

I still enjoy the games but definitely need a fresh approach

  • I think they are taking on too much with 5 games in the works at the same time. Granted telltale has grown significantly over the years I don't think it's a good idea for them to have so many projects at once. I just hope they put the quality work and effort into all of these titles rather than just mass producing them.

  • Minecraft Story Mode Season 2 was completely unnecessary so yeah.
