  • very good start to season 2, I have a feeling the league of shadows will be involved somewhat this time. The way Riddler died seems to be a very suspiciously ninja-like way for him to go.

Got a screenshot of the assassin.

  • I'm leaning towards Deadshot based on the ending of Episode 1, also is it just me or did we not get a preview for next episode?

  • It's pretty much one of the tricks they started with when they released The Walking Dead's first season, we just got memory notifications rather than relationship ones lol

Agreed...they seem to have learned a new trick or 2 in the Telltale dungeon.

  • Maybe it's time for Batman to have a sidekick? ;)

Well I hope they keep the villain count down...there is only so much one Batman can do...plus I want strong characters...not just emotionless robots...you feel me?

  • Yasss, I'm just hoping that Season One relationships are still gonna affect Season 2, like perhaps you're an ass to Gordon throughout this Season but in the end he helps you out because you had his back all last season? Or continuing the romance with Selina only if you had a good relationship with her? Would be nice.

You cannot please everyone...I think that is the lesson...I ended up with Gordon being my bro from another mo....but I FUCKED WAY UP with Alfred and made him vengeful....I am loving the new character relation system.

  • Exactly. Telltale has seemed to learn that Dialogue can also shape relationships in big ways, not just actions. That's good because mostly dialogue felt a bit like filler between the good stuff sometimes.
I enjoyed the filler, but this has a much better payoff.

It's nice to see that there is variety with relationships. I honestly love how they're focusing on relationships now, I hope this continues with all future Telltale Games.

  • there is only so much one Batman can do

Not unless Telltale gives us more episodes next time!
That could probably be a way to get enough screentime for each villain if they decide to do a "best of 'The Villains': All Stars Round!" next season.

Plus, like prink said, either this season or next, Batman should get a sidekick.

  • I wonder if Harleen met John while she was still at Arkham? I'm not sure if the timing would work (between Harley becoming a terrorist and John arriving at Arkham) but it would explain how John became associated with the Pact.

  • I really think they should add DLC episodes that focus on different new villains, I'd like to see episodes focusing on some of the more minor villains so far like Zsasz, The Ventriloquist and maybe an episode about Oswald escaping Blackgate and we get more backstory for him because I honestly don't think that Season One did him justice, he seemed a bit generic to me.

(I know I already did a review of this in a different thread, but this is just me expanding upon that in a bigger chat space.)

    It was incredible!
I just want to play, and replay, and re-replay this episode so much! And that's something that's kind of hard for me to do for a Telltale game. Because so far many episodes play out the same until you get to some big choice. The only episodes that got me eager to replay it were TFTB, Batman1, GOTG, and now this.

It was thrilling, it had interesting choices that were very difficult to make, the episode felt huge, we got great (albeit simple) puzzles from the Riddler, and lots of tense moments.

John is probably going to stay as a low burn for now, but I am very excited to see what his character turns into. I really want to stay on his side and find out more about him (because he's just so mysterious) but I know that'll lead me down the wrong path with the Agency, and possibly even the GCPD. I will get in BIG trouble for that.

I like the improved holograms in Batman's cowl. Last season's holograms were sometimes strange to see what they were doing, given their brightness and see-through nature. But this new stuff works.

Lucius' death was truly heartbreaking and I'm still shaken by it now. I loved the Lucius and Bruce team-up and thought he'd be such a big help against the Riddler this season. I'm so sad he's gone now. Another game, another Dave Fennoy dead. :bawling:

I'm with everybody else here in that I do think that Tiffany will become some sort of Batgirl. She knows the tech, she can make new stuff, we're obviously going to be recruiting her later on, so she might make a good sidekick.. if she has the athletic abilities. If not she can be our Oracle. That's fine.

I did not expect nor want Riddler's death in this episode. I thought he'd be the main baddie for the whole thing, until Joker took over in EP5 somehow. I guess this means no more interesting Death-Puzzles.. I liked his character here, he was a psycho Riddler turned up to 11, and it was interesting. Ah well, we've got more villains on the way.
But seriously, Falcone got taken down last season in the premiere, and now Riddler too? Will no supervillain last past the premiere episode??!

As the episode was winding down, I told her about John being connected somehow but then...
I don't know a lot about the Batman lore, so this reveal that Waller knows Batman's secret Identity was a shocker. For a second I thought she was getting all lovey-dovey after saying "It'll be a pleasure having you work for us.." since she turned and gave you that weird look for a bit too long.. but when she said that name, my jaw dropped. Who could have told her? How could she know?(--okay, she's with the feds so that's probably why) But if this has something to do with John... oh no.
I think this is the best premiere I've played to date. Set up the story really well, linked back to the previous one in interesting ways, (sure, Telltale says this is accessible to newcomers but I think it isn't for once.) There were quite a few big references to last season's events so I'm sure Newcomers would be somewhat lost... FINALLY.
We've got a sequel here people. A big, good sequel.

  • Or that... that could totally possibly work! I'd love more Batman stuff, as Telltale has twisted it so much it's just a lot more interesting now.

  • Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if a few years from now, Telltale may have it's own DC Universe, so far this is the most unique take on Batman I've discovered and I love it!

  • We'll likely learn more about him and why he was driven to become the Riddler as the story progresses, similar to the villains in the first season.

Now that I think about it, was there any piece of info in the game that confirmed Riddler's real name? I don't think anyone ever referred to him as Edward Nigma.

  • I don't think you understand what I said because thats precisely why I said it.

I don't want information MY character doesn't have.

    It's called roleplaying!

  • Very strong start. Telltale have outdone themselves.

Couldn't be more hyped for this season.

  • This is probably the first time I've wished one of TellTale Games had Multiple Saves because I always keep my initial playthrough as my personal canon. While it's still fresh in my mind, I can write down my choices to recreate it before the release of the next episode, but it would be amazing to be able to have at least a secondary one to do nothing but enjoy.

  • There are multiple saves...under settings...save files.

  • Hm. I thought it was a feature they were adding later since mine wouldn't let me. Maybe it didn't load right. Thanks Kenny. I'll check my files and redownload.

Nope. All seasons since Batman Season 1 has had multiple save files.
They were just hidden under the Options menu.

Edit: OH wait.. I get it. You know about it but couldn't access it.

To be fair Batman's identity shouldn't be that hard to figure out. Batman's gadgets would require money. They're Wayne-Tech. Who's rich? Who's got a high position in Wayne-Tech? Bruce/Batman connection to criminals.Who has a motivation to help the city? If this was in real life even some random justice warrior on twitter would figure it out.

  • Most likely explanation is that Avesta and Blake bugged Bruce's office so they heard Lucius call him "Batman" when he died.
