Winslow appreciation thread.

I want to thank you, TellTale, for transforming Winslow - from the character I didn't even notice, to a man that cracks me up whenever he opens his mouth.
Please, give him even more limelight, he definitely deserves it!

What do you like Winslow for, guys? ;P

    Hi Five for Winslow.

And like you said, transformed from a "recolor" into a memorable sidekick.

Yeah, he definitely grew on me this episode. I hope we'll see even more depth to him in the next one.

So maybe he is the lost Goudsoup relative!! :p

Yeah, in a post regarding ep1 I said he wasn't charismatic enough to be in Guybrush's crew (as opposed to his previous crews, except I Cheese), but now I take that back!! He's brilliant, funny and for once it's awesome to (finnaly) see a crewmember who doesn't rebbel or disrespect Guybrush!

Even though his mancrush is a little unsettling. But funny.

I think that Telltale really tapped into Winslow's potential with this episode. He could easily have been a random, throwaway character who existed to serve a purpose, and to be honest, that's what he felt like in episode one.

Now, though, we see that the mustachioed man behind the wheel is a solid companion to the 'Brush and can turn almost any conversation into comedy gold.

He may also be some kind of deviant.

    I think Winslow is gay:
    - He wears pink, frilly undies.
    - He is disappointed that Guybrush's "I love you" is merely a joke
    - He has kissed a merfolk before despite not being sure about his/her gender.

I reckon he's just really easy and not picky.

And really likes comfortable fabrics for his posterior, but then who doesn't?

And maybe, just maybe, he likes to dress up at weekends and get called Winsetta, but that's just good ol' fashioned cross-dressing fun, that us Brits are renowned for (watch any Monty Python episode), and since Winslow has a sort of British air to him (I'm laying claim to him in the name of Britain, so hands off!), he can get away with it without it being connected to gender preference. Honest.

Doesn't Van Winslow's name make him, well, Dutch? Free thinking and all that? :p

A mere technicality, it's too late now as I have already claimed him, stuck the British flag in him and everything (you gotta have a flag!). Any complaints and appeals need to be sent by yesterday, and I reserve the right to ignore any and all of them. Have a nice day.

I'm sure Winslow liked it when you stuck that flag.

Reginald Van Winslow is really cool! :) It just confused me a bit that he's referred to as just "Winslow" in Chapter 2 and not "Van Winslow" like in the first. But that's okay.

Maybe it's just me, but the character kinda reminds me of Carl Winslow from "Family Matters". Not only do they share the same last name and similar body features, but also the actor who played Carl Winslow is called Reginald VelJohnson. The name Reginald Van Winslow seems like a perfect combination of both the character's and the actor's names.

And did you notice the full name of the Family Matters character is actually Carl Otis Winslow.

We already had crewmembers called Carla, Otis... Makes sense the new one is called Winslow :D

Winslow is awesome. He's a bizarre, upbeat deviant. I definitely like that he's along for the entire ride and not just in one episode.

I was planning on starting a thread like this. I'm really happy I don't have to; it's comforting to see that I'm not alone and such an appreciation thread has already started.

I really do like Winslow. I think he's great fun. I started liking him after he made the comment about severe internal hemorrhaging in Episode One. I don't know why, but that comment made me laugh out loud pretty hard. It was probably because of how casual and happily he said it.
