The Best Changes/The Weakest Changes to the Batman mythos
Telltale's Batman is meant to be it's own take on the Batman mythos, which means there were many changes to certain characters or elements, yet they somehow manage to keep loyal to the comic book roots. Here's where we can list what we thought were the best and the worst changes to the Batman mythos so far.
Best change for me: Thomas Wayne was originally a criminal. The biggest part about Batman's lore is that he's motivated by the murder of his parents at a young age, and to him, his parents were the world to him, a reminder of the happy times he used to have. So it was really refreshing from a story perspective to see Bruce discover that everything he thought about his father was a lie, that the person he looked up to was in reality a villain he swore to fight. It adds a bit of uncertainty and a conflict of morality to Bruce, as he ponders to himself on whether being the Batman is worth it knowing that his legacy was built on this lie.
Worst change for me: Harley Quinn. Yeah, yeah, I know we haven't actually seen her yet, but from what info I can gleam, something felt off about how they're going to portray her. When I envision Harley, I like to think of her as a psychotic villain, literally the female version of the Joker. She's probably one of my favorite anti-heroes partly because of her rocky past with the Joker and her unstable mind, always able to find something funny about a horrific situation. This Harley Quinn seems to be more of a leader/mob boss based on the email she sent to the Riddler, preferring to keep her head down. She's probably going to be a cool and calculating villain, which isn't Harley Quinn in my mind.
