Choices continuity problem from ep1 to ep2 - The enemy within

Hello there, I just installed episode 2 last night and at my big surprise my choices in episode 1 were not respected at all. For example, I saved Avesta and let Blake die and yet episode 2 starts with Blake alive!
I tried restarting the episode and again Blake is well alive.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks.

  • This is a known bug. The only known fix for now is to replay episode 1 and let BOTH agents die.

Ok thanks. I've already played ep1 twice and in both times I let Blake die. So I don't feel like playing a 3rd time now, I'll just carry on with episode 2 and Blake alive. It's really frustrating cause my choices are the only reason I buy the game and not just watch it on youtube. I hope Telltale will fix this. Thank you again for your response.

  • So, does this problem always occur or is it only on certain platforms?

  • This also happened to me and I was really confused but I just decided to carry on, it is really weird and frustrating.

  • Must be a platform issue as I had no such issues on Xbox One.

  • Mine is on PS4.

  • I own it on PS4 as well. I only let one of the agents die and it worked fine. Blake is dead Avesta still has her hearing.
It's just some unfortunate bug then.

Just started the episode and Agent Blake was indeed alive even though he died in the previous episode. (playing on Steam btw) I think it has to do with which question you didn't answer correctly - if you answered the first one correctly and not the second one, then the choice will not register properly.

I'm not really willing to test it now, because if I'm wrong, I'd have to replay the episode once again. (See Telltale? This is a situation where the rewing function would be useful. But noo, nobody was using that, unlike the Crowd play feature, amirite?) I'd rather kill both of the agents just to be sure. Or maybe not, depends on if the second agent has anything to contribute to the story.

Soo question for those who already finished the episode - does it really matter if the second agent is alive or not?

  • No. In my playthrough the first agent (Blake) died, but the second agent didn't, and I haven't seen him since. Of those two, Blake is the only one who will continue to be in the story if he survives, to my knowledge the second agent is never seen again.

    RIP the second agent then.

  • Today I installed the latest update and restarted the episode, my choices are back in. Agent Avesta is alive and Blake dead. So I guess Telltale have been notified of the problem and fixed it.

  • Check out if there's an update file on steam as the one on the PS4.
