Your Telltale Games

edited December 2009 in General Chat
So, I was wondering, what games from telltale do you have and whats more important: where do you put them so you don't lose sight over all those episodes telltale made 'till date. And for last, what order did you buy the games from and what was your first telltale game?

I mean, have you just randomly spread them over your desktop or have you sorted them in lines, did you put them into a folder or did you download a dock for them.

I got (sorted by order I bought them):
-Tales of Monkey Island (all)
-Wallace and Gromits Grand Adventures (first one and two, then three and four as they came out monthly = all)
-Sam and Max Season 1 (all)
-Sam and Max Season 2 (all)

Never really got into Strongbad so I didn't buy that.

I personally started with just having them all over my desktop till I bought Sam and Max, now I downloaded rocketdock to have them listed nicely:
Desktop.jpg

So, what's with the rest of you?

PS. Sry for my not-so-perfect English :D

That Rocketdock intrigued me, so I downloaded it, but it appears that 75% of my Vista icons don't work right with it. They get all blurry and pixelated when I put them into it.

That's because the thing only makes them larger.

Telltalegames icons already are available in a real large resolution, so they look nice there, for other things, you can find icons on their website to download for almost everything to reaplace them with the originals and to look good in the dock.

No I have full size Vista icons for all my stuff and they look perfect at large size on my desktop and in folders, but that thing blurs them. Even the default icons for SBCG4AP and S&M Season Two get blurred by it.

Real strange, it didn't blur any of my icons except for, like mentioned, the low-res ones.

Very unlikely but, maybe it's something to do with vista?

I dunno, I can't tell you more then that it's workin pretty neat for me.

I have determined what is causing it, but have no idea how to fix it.

It seems to only be able to pull high res icons if they are within the exe itself, as the ones it's having trouble with are standalone icons that are specified by the shortcut.

All my icons that are the program icon work perfectly fine, but the ones I have custom icons for, are totally blurry.

I started with Tales of Monkey Island and have now moved onto both Sam and Max seasons. I'm on the last episode of season two now and am feeling very very sad! I hope season three is released soon.

I just uninstall them when I've played them, I'll reinstall when the time comes that I want to enjoy them again.

Wow, you've got ICQ... didn't know that was something people still used!

I found a solution to my problem, but it's not a good one. If I can get .png versions of my .ico files I can put them into C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Icons and manually specify each icon, but I don't know how to go about converting .ico to .png...

http://icofx.ro/ should work, as far as I heard.

Just tried it out quick and it appears that it can make .png into .ico, but I can't figure out how to get it to make .ico into .png

It makes no sense because even if I put the high res .ico files into the Icons folder, it will only import them as blurry low res icons, it will only import .png or .jpg as high res icons for some reason.

Edit: I think I may have figured out how to convert them to .png, let me verify if it works or not.

Edit 2: Awesome, it works :D

...but I still have a couple hours of editing ahead of me to get all my icons set up... :(

That is strange, why did you use custom icons for Season 2 of Sam and Max in the first place?

and btw. just look on google for a converter, there has to be one, right?

I didn't, but season 2's launcher uses an .ico file instead of having an icon built into the .exe so RocketDock can't recognize it.

So you using the DVD versions?

Because I put my downloaded ones there, and they all look great.

    Woo, thread derailed.

Personally, I've only got Sam & Max Season One (on the Wii) and Season Two (the Softcover Special. Still waiting for the paperback Surfin' The Highway to arrive in Telltale's warehouse). I'm curious about Strong Bad, so that may be next.

On RocketDock, that's a bit odd. Are you using stupidly large size? (e.g. 128 pixels with 128 pixels zoom)

Yeah, I could put individual episodes there instead of the launcher, but I have tons of other icons I want to put in, so using the launchers saves me a ton of slots.

    I see.

I know I already said that but, did you check on their site for icons for your programs? The most commonly used are there, and a lot of other programs too.And I'm sure you can find a icon for everything in png via google.

    What else is new?

    My Telltale Games

    SBCG4AP Season 1 (PC)
Sam & Max Season 1 (Wii)
    Wallace & Gromit Season 1 (Episode 1 Xbox 360, 2-4 PC)

Yes, I am. 256x256 is the highest resolution supported for Vista icons so that is what I like them to show up at. It's not a problem with the size of the icons, but rather, how RocketDock handles them. I just downloaded ObjectDock and it has no problem with them.

I have Sam & Max (both seasons), SBCG4AP, Wallace & Gromit and Tales of Monkey Island.

As I only allow myself 6 game icons on my desktop, I keep them all in my start menu with Telltale getting their own folder in my Games folder and each season has it's own folder as well.

    screenshot of it here.

Also a nice idea :D, if my rocketdock ever gets full, I'll do it that way.

I own them all, except the CSI Games, I even have some of the games from when Telltale used to be a 3rd party seller. (Who else here remembers that?)
  • edited August 2009
Sam and Max: Season 1 (retail version).

    Tales of Monkey Island.

I've also played the demos for the Bone, Strong Bad, Wallace and Gromit, and Sam and Max: Season 2 episodes.

I own Texas Hold 'Em, Bone, Sam and Max(both seasons), SBCG4AP, Wallace and Gromit, and Tales of Monkey Island.

    So...everything but the CSI games.

I don't "keep" them anywhere. I download the game when it comes out or whenever I have time to play it. I play through, then delete the game(keeping game saves, obviously). The DVD provides for all of my re-playing needs.

The only game I kept installed after finishing was Tales, for the Treasure Hunt mini-game.

I remember it, but I never bought any of the ones they sold.

I own every Telltale game released thus far (including the CSI games). So, for me, there is no need to make a list.

As for where I keep them:

Since I never answered the topic of the thread, this ^

...and where I keep them should be pretty obvious after the long discussion about how to configure my dock.

Everything other than the Bone games and CSI games. Can't take a screenshot of the shortcuts or whatnot, because half of them I haven't got installed. Yay for hard disk being wiped. The ones I have got installed though I either launch through Steam(Added them into it manually, so I can use the Steam ingame feature) or via the Telltale games folder in the start menu.

    My Telltale games:
Bone 1 & 2 (waiting the recently shipped CD's) - Hoping for new Bone games...
    Telltale's Texas Hold'em
Both CSI games (Spanish UbiSoft Codegame PC retail version) - Looking forward for Deadly Intent.
Sam & Max Season One (Spanish JoWood/The Adventure Company/Nobilis PC retail version)
Sam & Max Episode 201 (PC download) - Waiting for Spanish Atari PC retail version of full season (less than two weeks to go if my GAME shop isn't wrong)
SBCG4AP full season (WiiWare and Telltale's PC DVD)
Wallace & Gromit Grand Adventures full season (PC download, waiting for Telltale's DVD)
ToMI Chapter One (WiiWare) - Waiting for WiiWare's Chapter Two and for an eventual and likely Spanish PC retail version after the season is finished

All but Bone part 2 and the poker game. Even the CSI-games, but I have been buying them since the first one. I only got Bone 1 because I got a free coupon with TOMI. It is a good game, and I might just buy Bone 2. The pokergame really isn't that high on my list.
  • edited August 2009
All of them, except the CSI ones and the Poker game. And I just keep most of them in my start menu, only the most recent one the dock. And the Bone ones are on my Windows PC, because they don't work with wine.

I have most of them in steam. On Launcher, One Icon. I Love Steam.

    Steam
    Sam & Max Season 1
Telltale Everything Pack (Version with Strong Bad)
    Wallace & Grommit

    On My Telltale Account
    Strong Bad
    ToMI
    Ice Station Santa

At the moment... none of them. I had to reformat my C:\ (where I kept all my adventure games) due to an epidemic of the 'f**k you' virus. Bah!

Once I get everything back up and running though, I shall have:

    PC
Sam & Max Save the World
Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space
    Tales of Monkey Island
    Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures

    Wii
Sam & Max Save the World
Strong Bad's Cool Game 4 Attractive People
    Tales of Monkey Island

...I was looking into trying to get the two Bone games before the virus struck, so that's been put on the backburner for the moment. I've also started getting into CSI (about 10 years too late, but meh), so I might grab those games as well at some point. But there's no real rush for those.
  • edited August 2009
I uninstall them when I'm done with them. Right now I only have TMI2 and W&G1 installed. My copy of SBCG4AP Ep. 1 & 2 are on my Wii, and S&M Season One I have PC and Wii retail copies of.
  • edited August 2009
Sam and Max Season 1(Installed to the old desktop which was cannibalized for the current one.)
Sam and Max Season 2(Old laptop and desktop, so again, gone)
SBCG4AP(1.5 Season on Wii, mine and my brothers, also bought PC version but haven't loaded it)
Telltale Texas Hold 'Em and both Bone Games on DVD (old desktop, new desktop, new laptop)
    ToMI (old desktop, new desktop)

Hmm, I've had a lot of computers in the past two years for someone so techunsavvy ... then again I had to get a new laptop because I electrocuted the old one, so I guess it's not that surprising.
  • edited August 2009
I suppose I could also state that I have each release on a separate platform too, for example I own S&M season one on XBLA, Wii, and PC, and SBCG4AP on Wii and PC, and TMI on Wii and PC, and Wallace and Gromit on XBLA and PC. The only ones I don't have are the console ports of the CSI games, which I intend on getting sooner or later.

I got (sorted by order I bought them):
-Tales of Monkey Island (all + Collectors Edition Box when done)
-Sam and Max Season 1 (all + Bonus Disc)

I have them all over the desktop. :P

Hmm... I want more desktop pictures, people!!!

    ME? Easy:

Sam and Max Season One (Wii, 360)
Sam and Max in Ice Station Santa (PC)
Sam and Max in Moai Better Blues (PC)
Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People (Wii)
Strong Bad: Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective (PC)
    Tales of Monkey Island (PC)

My desktop sorta exploded the other day, but i had them in the top right corner organized by series.

I have all of the downloadable games except for the new Tales of Monkey Island series, as well as boxed copies of Telltale Texas Hold'Em, the CDs of both Bone games, and DVDs of both seasons of Sam & Max, and the retail release of CSI: 3 Dimensions of Murder for the PC.

I played through CSI: Hard Evidence on the Xbox 360, but I don't own it yet. I want to pick it up some time for the PC to put it next to all my other Telltale games on my shelf. I still haven't yet paid for my shipping for my Strong Bad DVD, and I still have to buy Tales of Monkey Island.

My PC isn't good enough to play any of the Telltale Games at the moment, so I'm stuck at episode 2 of Wallace & Gromit. A new video card comes first, and then I'll pick up the Tales of Monkey Island series. :)
