The group I dislike most are YouTube comments (this is an example of an internet group), they usually have nothing to do with the video like:

EARLY SQUAD WHERE AR U AT???

    or

    You know the drill

    or

    First (classic)

    or

    roses are red
(i don't remember the name of this flower) are blue
(insert youtuber name here) is great
    and so are you!

    or

can i get likes for no reason (the dumb one(well, after all these comments are dumb anyways))

or... Well, you get the idea.

Life is Strange. Not all fans are bad mind you, I’d like to think most of them are well rounded and rational people, but there is a shit ton of them who get triggered over the slightest criticism about this game. To treat the game as anything less than the 2nd coming of Christ will send them down on you faster than a fat guy at an all you can eat buffet. They’re so disrespectful, so intolerant, so rabid, so protective of this, quite honestly, overrated game that it turns many off of the game in general.

  • "but there is a shit ton of people who get triggered over the slightest criticism about this game."

And soooo many other games with their fandoms.

  • the fucking rick and morty fanbase

  • To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them.

the fucking rick and morty fanbase

  • That is true, I’m not denying that, but LiS is the worst one of the bunch, in my experience at least.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid

I've been waiting for a thread like this. Yipee (idk why its all 1. lol)

    1. Dan and Phil.

60% of their fandom is fine but that last 40% just makes me shudder. They call themselves the 'phandom.' They over-analyse every video that has Dan and Phil in it because they're obsessed with the idea that they're a couple. They'll also take out their pitch forks and stakes if they hear you say something even remotely bad about them. Jolly fellows they are.

    1. Steven Universe.

Like three years ago I think, an artist had to delete all her social media after getting bombarded with a bunch of death threats from hormonal SU fans. Why, you may be asking? Because she drew the TV characters as white. She got harassed for days by the community just because she drew 'Amethyst' as white. Lol. They're even more toxic than the phandom.

    1. Rick and Morty.

    Need I explain?

    1. Uncharted

This ones not as bad as the rest but its still pretty bad. The Uncharted game's community is surprisingly toxic from what I've seen. If you go on the Subreddit, you'll see what I mean. Every post has like 5 downvotes and at least one nasty comment. Its weird.

I've seen more complaints about the ending and how male writers did shitty job displaying some female-related stuff but no crazy praise ??

  • Ever since Rick and Morty became popular with the mainstream, the show and it's fanbase have become increasingly edgy and iamverysmart-esque. It's steadily ruining a previously decent show.

  • Any fanbase of a story with a Gay main character and now call the story "Gay Ambrosia" or some shit.

Like, take LiS for example. Protagonist is BISEXUAL (no gay) and she spends a lot more time fucking with the universe and making illegal investigation to avenge the murder (suicide counts as murder) of her friend and fights goverment and police corruption and rapist pedophilic assholes and having mental breakdowns and making her brain literally bleed with like three demigods running around and fucking up with nature when upset and yeah the game is kinda shit but you gotta admit that premise is interesting.

    But no.

    This game is about gay.

Because who gives a shit about the interesting part instead of writing theories and making deep, philosophical fanfiction let's draw our fav ships and write gay porn instead.

and that happens with almost every story with gay main characters like, having gay main characters is the worst you can do to your story because the fandom will erase everything that's not about gay and the best part is dead completly.

    fuck.

  • While things may have changed in recent months, I remember going onto both Everything Wrong With videos and the Honest Trailer for Life is Strange and finding a lot of comments from people saying how they aren't smart enough to understand the game or shitting on them for daring to make fun of it in anyway. I've also seen comments from certain play throughs on Youtube where people defend this game to the death, immediately lashing out and insulting people or going into essay-style diatribes explaining the genius behind the series. It's not so much that they like the game, I've always been fine with that, but a lot really overreact to stuff like this. It's just a game, you don't need to get all defensive and whiny whenever someone doesn't share your opinion about it. And other fandoms are guilty of this, I recognize that, LiS has just been the most guilty offenders in my experience.

Are the LiS and Superman fanbases really that bad? I haven't seen anything of them other than some tumblr fan art.

  • Professional wrestling (hate), Rick & Morty (hate), Telltale Games (dislike, sorry lads), League of Legends (dislike) and The Elder Scrolls (dislike).

    Can't think of anything else.

  • Not videogame related - I hate how some Roger Federer's fans insult or denigrate Rafael Nadal just because he's his rival number one.

  • I agree. I don't think that's because of the show though. The show is great, but since it became popular, it grabbed a bunch of people who wouldn't normally have watched it because it's popular and they are the ones who blow things way out of proportions.

Ever since Rick and Morty became popular with the mainstream, the show and it's fanbase have become increasingly edgy and iamverysmart-esque. It's steadily ruining a previously decent show.

People who make fan art combos of FNAF, Bendy and the Ink Machine, and Undertale. I have... seen things.

  • Currently, Rick and Morty.

  • FNAF fanbase... You can't search about the game without a lot of porn fan art appearing in front of you.

  • The DC fanbase. To be more specific, the ones that the insult your intelligence if you're even the least bit critical of BvS or Suicide Squad. There's arguably worse fanbases out there, but they get under my skin the most.

    • Naruto fanbase

I never seen the anime and I don’t plan on to, but the fanbase is extremely annoying.

    • DBZ fanbase

I’m a huge fan of the show, but I’m starting to lose interest in it by the fanbase. They always say “Goku can beat (blank)” or “DBZ is the best anime ever!!!”

    • Marvel fanbase

Marvel fanboys are extremely annoying when it comes to other superhero movies. look at The Dark Knight: fantastic movie and Heath Ledger’s Joker was so amazing that he won an Oscar for it. Yet the Marvel fans keep saying “That MOVIE SUCKED! IRON MAN 2 WAS BETTER!!” It’s like the only superhero movies they watch are Marvel.

    • Telltale TWD fanbase

Yes, even this one. Ever since S2’s ending, the Walking Dead community have been toxic. It got even worse after ANF finished. You got the Clementine lovers, Kenny haters, Gabentine supporters (which is probably the worst), and just so many other fans that are diverse. I doubt The Final Season will make it any better.

Tbh most, if not all, internet fanbases are pretty crap. Because they get so salty at, like, the slightest criticism of something they like, either telling you to go f*ck yourself or they have this, like, infinitely-long argument with you, which, in most cases, are literally just the same statements being said over and over again and that's really goddamn annoying.

  • edited October 2017

Your description for the DBZ fanbase sounds like the One Punch Man one.

Tbh in recent years I've seen more Dragon Ball fans really really hate Goku than I have cheer him on. People are just really uninterested in seeing him win so many fights.

Yet the Marvel fans keep saying “That MOVIE SUCKED! IRON MAN 2 WAS BETTER!!”

Not to be "that guy", but Iron Man 2 came out 4 years after The Dark Knight and was also destroyed by Marvel fans just as Iron Man 3 was. Maybe there were people saying it about Iron Man 1 though since it came out the same year as Dark Knight and was kinda overlooked, but I doubt Iron Man 2 is what people bitched about and compared it to.
