If there is one thing I hate about ToMi, it's the "puzzle" with the bucket and the coals. I don't like the fact that an object magically appears in a location you've been to a few times. I couldn't find anything to pick up the coals and then suddenly a theres a bucket? Why does telltale do it this way? In previous MI games all objects where there already. Doesn't matter if you only need it later on in the game. In ToMi objects appear just when you need them.
So when I get stuck, I need to visit ALL locations again just to see if an object appeared ouf of nowhere? That is ridiculous.
Yeah that one took me a while... I think it was there from the start, just I didn't pick it up. Other than that the chapter was a cinch.
My view is that in the earlier games there weren't these random objects that you had to spend heaps of time looking for... more, you'd have all the objects in your inventory, but the fun would be using them in order to solve a really complex puzzle.
I finished this chapter in a few hours, and will admit that more than 1/2 of that time was spent looking for the bucket! I found it because I remembered that tranny mermaid thing telling me she'd be up in the bait shop if I wanted her. So I went up there and just kept clicking on things until he asked if he could have the bucket.
Maybe it'd be better if she said something about the bucket, and at first you couldn't get it until you did something stupid? E.g. "oh and don't touch my bucket, it's special!" then you say "why?" and have a stupid argument until she finally says "okay take it and shut up..."
I have to agree that everything just seemed so obvious in this episode. And lazy, too. The pearl lever / clamshell device again? Really? And to leave the coupon for the pearl right next to the device? Lazy.
I think he is referring to the spoiler icon, not a spoiler tag. It is to the left of the thread title, when you look through the list of threads. It looks like the icon on this post's title.

I am glad that I was not the only one. What made it worse is that the
